    Hey guys, back again!

So as most of you guys know I made a thread earlier in the week asking for advice and opinions on what a stock 440 block could take... I guess I shouldn't of even asked... I was pulling the motor to do some needed maintenance for the off season and came across this nice 2 inch crack right in the side of the block. So this is where I'm at right now...

Does anyone out there sell aftermarket 440 block anymore? I cannot find much info on it and every part number I come across either leads no where or is out of stock. Any ideas? I have seen the aluminum blocks and I don't want to spend 5k+ on an aluminum block... Thanks guys.

      IMHO-
Why not just move to a stroked low-deck ‘B’ engine or GEN III Hemi at this point?

My mega block has been great. There are early and late. From what I understand you want the one with this triangle logo and the ribs in the lifter bores

Call Bill at Chicago Connection. He is a dealer for the new iron blocks also.

You could get that crack metal stitched for about $200.00. Wouldn't even have to disassemble the engine. Then just beat the hell out of that motor while you take your time and build the motor you really want.

Another vote for stitching what you have. The location of the crack doesn't appear to be in a location that would prohibit stitching. If it was in the deck or the Main webbing than it would be trash but where its located you can stitch it and probably get a couple of more seasons out of it.

The "panda bear eating popcorn" pic is because I am actively planning a stroker build.
If I forego nitrous, my HP and Torque goals are in the 6XX range, and I believe that a girdled properly setup Chrysler block would be fine. If I want to add nitrous, I would want an aftermarket block. I probably only have one shot to do this, would prefer to only build this motor once, 6XX HP and TQ may be all that I can handle, but....
So I am attentively following this aftermarket/or not 440 block search as well. Thanks to all who reply.

Hey guys, wanted to pass along some info. Just got off the phone with Bill from Chicago Connection. He is working on getting some cast iron aftermarket blocks built. He is going to be making Hemi, 440, and 400 blocks. Other options he mentioned are going to available for all of them as well. He told me that he is hoping to have the 440's on the market in January for a price of 3975 + Whatever options you want. Wanted to pass this info along to everyone... Unsure if the block design is of his own OR from the Muscle Motors design. Either way he brought it to Ray Burton and they were impressed with the quality. All cross bolted mains as well with the exception of #5 journal.

I’d take a 400. Transplant all my stuff out of the stock time bomb I run.
