I put one of those in my 1979 E58 'ahem' "HP" 360, had a ceremony to celebrate the trashing of the Lean Burn spark control system, and installed a Mopar ignition system and a Holley 600 CFM 4bbl carb, and headers. WOW! what an improvement! I also put an 8¾ rear axle assembly in from a 1973 340 4 speed Demon I bought from a junkyard. (Yeah-I know
) By changing those things and going to a 3.23 ring and pinion from the 2.XX that was in the 8¼, it really breathed some pep into the 79 Aspen R/T. I was installing an aluminum case factory 4 speed OD into it, to replace the automatic transmission just because, and I had a pair of 2.02 intake valve, purple stripe springs equipped 340 heads to go on it. All of that went out the window when my dad's 82 Collector Editon Corvette came up for sale.
I was kinda crazy back then.
