Just picked up on your thread Don. You're doing some thorough and nice work on that RT. she's going to be a beauty when your done. You're a blessed man to have all those resources. Can't wait to see next steps. Thx for all the postings.

need help!!! anyone out there have a non vinyl top 68, was going to go topless on this beauty, wondering if anyone had close up pics of the body lines above trunk lid and in between rear quarter and trunk deck, just kinda looking for the thickness of the reveal, would help derrick(body man). also any close pics of quarter corner at rear valance reveal would be great, thanks.

Very nice! Can't wait to get mine that smooth.. What's the color going to be?

i am doing the exact same car in a different thread (sweeter than yoohoo) . i just found out this week that the mounting tabs that hold the taillight housing brackets are about 3/4 of an inch too short. this causes the housing to not go all the way into the hole and seat.

i got the pg classic new housings and i thought they were the problem but the originals dot fit either. i would say test fit them and lenghten the tabs early if you can

good luck .....WE are gonna need it

Viper silver black stripes black interior, originally aa1 buffed silver, black stripe and interior, wanted a brighter silver, saw a couple cars painted looks very brilliant. mostly new chrome, wasn't gonna do the black vinyl top, but thinking that might be a better look, i got a couple days to figure that out will save body man some work if i go vinyl, but vinyl and chrome pieces, and somebody thats knows what there doin, would be another grand or so. guess i.m gonna have start looking at some silver cars.

went to your thread beautiful car you got there!!!!

so what your saying is all the available luck meant to be shared, you got it all......i see

its gonna take a while to get my housings in....

Don, it gives me goose bumps to see the beautiful lines of your car (my favorite). Everybody has there own preference of what they like. I like the color combo that you are thinking of. I personally think that the vinyl top would look good with your color and help break it up but make sure that you do what you want. I know that it will look great ether way.:icon_winkle:

my 69 SE was a vinyl top car that was removed and made into a general lee. i kept the vinyl top trim on it and i thought it looked good like that.

Your car sure is looking sweet Don. 68's are my favorites as far as Chargers go. Just my opinion, but if it were mine the car would definitely get the vinyl top. I like the contrast between a silver body and the black top, rump stripe, and tail panel.

some feather fill, another coat of primer derrick managed to get done, helped him set doors and latches, actually have working doors, ended up grinding the hinges to allow door to slide forward, another after market adjustment, going there tomorrow to drill some holes for trim spots on the new panels (rather do it now just in case) received my fender and trunk panel a few days ago both were damaged, fender beyond repair for the work that need to reconstruct the top body line so, shipped them back waiting for them to respond back, can't wait till the20150723_104802.jpg20150723_104806.jpg20150723_104824.jpg20150723_104830.jpg20150723_105628.jpgy get here wanna see the whole body back together.
