Flat Orange General Lee? Opinions.

Most people don't know the difference between the three model years. Only the Mopar guys know.

Is there an online place I can get a nice full size readable wiring diagram to print out for a 1970 Charger?

One of my best friends customers at her auto repair shop had a 57 DeSoto in that same color scheme, one of my favorites. I wanted that car BAD!

No offense, but grow up. I’ve had multiple 68-69 Chargers over the years and the General Lee and Dukes comments from others got old quick. I still love the show and still find it entertaining, but Jesus, the show hit the air almost 47 years ago, and went off the air over 40 years ago. Let it go. Enough Chargers have been butchered to make TV clone cars, and 99% of them aren’t done correctly/screen accurate. Instead of copying someone else’s idea, how about you actually build the car and make it something enjoyable to see and appreciate? You go to a Mopar show with a 70 GL clone and you’ll not only get your *** reamed for ruining a 70 Charger, but also for making an incorrect clone. IMO, the only GLs worth looking at in 2025 are one of the original 17 WB cars that were purchased in 1991. I walk right past clones at car shows anymore.

Depends on the area. Not everyone has the luxury of seeing a 2nd gen Charger in their area, let alone a GL.

You’re lucky regarding the GLs. There are 4 of them running around the Phoenix metro area. 68-70 Chargers aren’t rare around here either.

I'm not a fan of a 70 as a GL, and was a harsh critic of them, until I met actual owners.
With prices where they're at for these cars, you get what you can get/afford and ya make due.

The owners were enthusiastic and extremely genuine. I had some laughs with them and it was a good time had by all.

They had a childhood dream, fulfilled it, and were happy to geek out over it.

Plus, the kids there took a serious interest in them. Where's that thread on the newer generation just doesn't like old cars?

If the man wants to paint his car a color that makes him happy, you have no right, hell...nobody has the right to tell him that he can't do it.
It is the height of arrogance to lecture another man when he is spending his own money to do something that makes him happy.
Some people fix up their car to please themselves with absolutely no regard for what others think. Many don't care to take their cars to shows either.

But when somebody posts on a public forum asking for OPINIONS, that person should be willing to accept OPINIONS from both sides.

My opinion:
There are more than enough general Lee's in existence now, 95% of which are crappy clones, we don't need any more. I don't think I've spent 20 seconds looking at one, ever.
Want to be different? Do a General Lee on ANYTHING BUT a charger!
Use a Toyota, paint it flat orange, put ADMIRAL YAMAMOTO above the door, and a Rising Sun on the roof. I guarantee you will get noticed more , and more comments at car shows.
If you wanna do another GL, go ahead, just don't expect me to give a rat's a$$.
