Harrison Ford was aboard a small plane that landed on a taxiway of a California airport, flying directly over a waiting American Airlines 737, federal officials said.
The Federal Aviation Administration, which has not identified who was piloting the plane, is investigating this incident.

According to the FAA, the actor's Aviat Husky single-engine propellor plane was cleared to land on Runway 20L at John Wayne Airport in Orange County, Monday afternoon. The FAA said the pilot repeated the approved landing clearance back to the air traffic controller.

"The pilot then landed on a taxiway that runs parallel to the runway, overflying a Boeing 737 that was holding short of the runway," the FAA said in a statement.

The 737-800, operated by American Airlines, had 110 passengers and six crew aboard. The flight departed the gate from Orange County for Dallas just after noon.

The National Transportation Safety Board said that it was told Ford was involved in a landing incident at John Wayne airport. They are gathering more information and have not determined whether they will investigate just yet.

The NTSB did not specify that Ford was the pilot.

Must be trumps fault! Good one!!

Seeing that 737 in front of the "threshold" and having to fly over it, should have been a clue that he was not in the right place.

The guy is 74 & has had two incidents in 2 years which tells me that it's time to hang up his pilot's license.

imma just leave this here...
and point out that he wasnt just a movie star.

Ford, an Academy Award-nominated actor known widely as the star of the "Star Wars" and "Indiana Jones" movie series, is also known as a longtime aviation enthusiast.

He owns several aircraft and has been active with the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association and the Experimental Aircraft Association. Known for piloting fixed-wing aircraft and helicopters, he crashed a helicopter in the Santa Clarita area during a training flight in 1999 and a six-seat plane in Nebraska in 2000.

Ford got his pilot's license in the late 1980s and has served as a spokesman to various airline associations. In 2009, he stepped down as chairman of a youth program for the Experimental Aircraft Association.

His flying made headlines in 2001 when he rescued a missing Boy Scout in his helicopter. Nearly a year before, he rescued an ailing mountain climber in Jackson, Wyoming.

Geesus Harry, nothing is going to keep you out of the cockpit huh?

They're talking about potentially taking away his pilots license. Depends on the investigation. It might be time to hang it up Hans. You can't go solo forever....

His time is numbered,
he's crashed {planes} how many times now ?

That's not an Aviat..... it's a DeHavilland Beaver.

There's two runways @ Orange County that parallel each other....20 left is the shorter.....taxiways in between...
the 737 was holding short on 20 right......so if He landed parallel to 20 right, how did He overfly the 737??
Typical media mis-information.
I know Orange County have spent years on it.
