My 70 SE 500 Charger Rebuild

Make sure you clean the paint on your dash where the cluster screws to the dash, otherwise you will have bad grounding, and your gauges will fluctuate. Is that a 69 Woodgrain? 70's are available.
Thank you for the tip!! I’ll make sure I have a good ground. Yes I used the 69 wood grain…. I like the darker wood. The 70 was to yellow in color.

Looks great! What kind of stereo system set up are you using. I’m using the same radio and I ended up not being able to use my 2 center dash speakers as I’m running speakers in the kick panels, package and trunk. Also using an amp.
I purchased from Retro Sound…. I was able to use center dash speaker which had a left and right speaker setup. I think I got that from classic industries. It was a little tight, but I was able to make it work. No amp, said keep it simple. LOL…

You could get custom decals. I think MrMoparts makes them.

New 19 gal gas tank installed. Tank was painted black and the underside was treated with undercoating. Added a return (welded) gas line fitting to the top left side of the tank. Also add a grounding stud to the bottom right side corner

Interior is also being installed. Using most of the original Door panels. The black top panel we’re in the Car when I originally purchased it in 1986.

I'd be real interested in knowing how a 10 to 1 505 could be making 750 horsepower.
Maybe with more compression, different heads, a Dominator carb on a huge single plane intake and a monster cam.

The builder did say estimated…. I’m not building it for max HP. Just want a healthy piece. Once the car is completed I would like to have it dyno tested.

Probably meant to type 550 hp?

I’m sure the builder would discuss it with you. Just Google Mike Zimmerman race engines. He’s been building motors in the Phoenix area for decades.

We are not trying to insult you. It is just that the estimate seems far higher than what seems possible for the build.
I've known guys that have been doing it for years that are great people but not necessarily the most truthful.
750 HP from a stock block without a power adder..... blower/turbo/nitrous is pretty radical.

Tune it for peak power at 7500 and it probably would. When I say tune I mean heads, cam, rocker arms and valve springs.

That color is beautiful. It looks great on your car. It is good to see you making progress.
Are you leaving the ride height that high? It looks quite a bit higher than stock.

I only mention it because you mentioned a rear sway bar. If your goal was improved handling, I'm curious as to why it sits so tall.

The rear suspension is all new, and I’m not sure how much the body will drop once the car is done and gas tank is full. I perfect some height to the rear. Not a fan of a saggy rear end.
