I helped my dad today prime his 440 (stroked to 505) and the passenger side rockers got oil rather quickly, but the drivers side took forever and I was turning the engine over by hand. I had cut an old valve cover so we could see the rockers and that side got oil very easily. We removed the 2 oiling bolts to see if the oil was coming out the drivers side shaft and we were getting damn little. So we waited about 20 minutes, let the drill cool and for the oil to drain back into the pan, then blew some air down those holes for a (gee, maybe this might do something), then retorqued the rocker bolts. We had to let the drill cool down a few times but then finally we got oil, and it was a weight off his shoulders. We got 75ish lbs spinning the pump and me hand cranking the engine, so can anyone shed some light as to was was happening?? Thanks fellas!!
