Pulling my 4 speed trans just want to know if unbolting top bolts first before removing cross member would cause a problem I don't see? Top bolts are tough to get at. Don't need any broken ears.

Not a problem if the bottom bolts are tight. A little tip: If you take a couple of 6" long bolts, cut the heads off and as you lower the transmission, screw them into the top transmission holes; they will act a guide when you slide the transmission out of the bellhousing so you don't put any undue pressure on the clutch disc and bend it. Helps with installation as well. Good luck.

No problem at all. I've usually found that it's easier to take the cross member out first (holding trans with jack), let it down & then take the top bolts out since the firewall/trans tunnel isn't in the way anymore.

tunnel is tight and my x-ram is close to firewall. Motor is set back closer to firewall than stock. Made motor mounts by tracing 66 k member hemi mounts. That probably set the motor back some.

Support the engine, also wondering are you gonna support trans on your chest&body's like we used to do in younger days?lol. Tip too much and get a wet crotch!

"Use to" is the by word, no more. have a yoke in tail shaft. Have floor jack with a 1/2" piece of plywood bolted to it and a couple of 2x3's bolted to it so it won't roll off the sides. I Hope. Just need to change front seal.

I have to replace the front seal in mine too! It just puddles up in the floor every time I pull it in from a drive.

Amx364- which hair? LMAO & from experience.

Get a long extension and swivel on the end and go through the shifter hole for the top left bolt, you can get the top right bolt from underneath.

5.7hemi is thinking in the present tense! Lol. Good thought, though.

Good idea but my car was an auto and added a homemade hump for shifter, Ugh. It's really tight. Think a 3' extension and a joint will work. Did this before hump were repo'd. Thanks for the suggestion.
