I rotate shoes with several different pairs....but have one pair that I do wear often until either my feet start hurting or my back does.

Anything that throws your alignment out of whack will cause trouble. When I drove old trucks with worn seat suspensions and sliders in my early career, I had frequent back issues. Tilting to one side set the problem off. Driving the Peterbilt in later years, with a perfectly aligned air seat, I never had a problem.

Hate to hear about the back pains… New shoes are always Great! I find a nice comfy office chair with wheels is incredibly helpful in the shop when trying to work with back pains.

Oh man....that reminds me when I bought my 66 Belvedere in 88. The bench seat was fairly worn and driving it back and forth to work made my back hurt. Threw in a pair of buckets from my old race car (Duster seats they looked like) and the back aches went away.

With two L4-L5 herniated disc surgeries well behind me - last one in 2005 - I'm familiar with back pain.
Don't stay too idle, sometimes that can make it worse. Do some light duty stuff tomorrow - maybe sorting through and organizing parts?
Hope your back improves! Strong aspirin is good stuff...
