What did you do to your Mopar today?

I cleaned my drivers side window tracks. The grease was so solidified that i had to scrape it off with a razor blade. Then tonnes of degreaser. Took 4 hours, but I got the result I was after in the end.

I got my spring shackles i bought from our local member "Moparmark" and couldn't be more pleased with them and Mark for digging thru things to get them for me!! Also ordered the bushings for the springs and perches! Now, just need to get a foot healed up to get back to work on things... Thanks again Mark!

Started cleaning up my short block in 62 in prep to bolt on a new set of heads.

I was beating my head against the wall trying to get the 72 to run. It has a late LA 318 4 barre, and a points distributor.
Couldn't get spark no matter what I tried.

Saturday I gathered up, and inventoried all my ignition parts, and converted it back to electronic.
Between a questionable carb and a weak battery, I did manage to get a solid sputter out of it before the batt died.
I'm claiming tactical victory and progress on that for now.

Sunday, I went to a swap meet and scored a Eddy 750 for $70 and a Torker 383 for $60.
Carb looks serviceable but haven't tried it. Best looking/smelling one there (besides the ones the rebuilders had) and also the cheapest.
Also picked up two name brand square bore to spread bore adapters and a pile of gaskets for $12.
Was really looking for a DP4B. There was one there but the casting had been abused quite a bit. Big chunk missing form the spring tower, and several repairs. Asking $150. No way. The Torker will at least get my 400 running.

I removed my front and rear bumpers today,,,and off to be re chromed they go.
Now the hard part,,,waiting 6-8 weeks for them to be returned,,,and worrying about the quality of work,,,ahhhhhhh,,I hate it already

Rode around on my mower and got the grass mowed and then pulled my 73 up by the kitchen porch to under go a good wash and wax job that hasn't happened in more then two months, My daughter even volunteered to handle it so its a good thing, actually her idea if i pulled it up and ready, do need to keep them looking good and ive more then been a slacker with that part of it lol...

Finally got a new alternator installed! I'm just like a lot of other people on the board, to many other things happen that keep me from getting to work on the Bee.

Today I learned. I took the 1bbl off the 62 /6 and put a carb kit in it. First time for that. Pretty simple carburetor! Then I cleaned up the cap and rotor and it runs a little better. Thinking points, cap and rotor are in order for the Savoy. I want to see if I can get it to run decent and then I may use it as a burn around car until the "other projects" are completed!

That sounds like more then a plan, it sounds like a lot of fun! I like my 73 for trolling around until i finish my project, all i need to do is keep the 73 up because the project is-int taking weeks, or EVEN months, but years in the making but enjoying all of it, of course the DD 73 when its dry is keeping the idea of everything going lol.. hey, we all need inspiration i think... After about 200 hours of welding, grinding, filling, priming and sanding, I wet sanded one last time (400 grit), rinsed and wiped. Tomorrow it goes to a paint booth!!!

I washed all my seat belts today. An unbelievable amount of grime came out of them. 41 years worth Yuck. Here's some before and after pics.

stretched her legs last night to a local cruise in...my twin boys are now almost 2yrs old and so they come with me and wife drives the chase car so when (not if) they melt down she takes them home. New compliments on my car are the 2 car seats strapped in the back seat. lol

Today "Max" got some new shoes to roll around on. Temporary, but good condition. The fronts I blasted and painted but the backs are good enough for now. Fronts are 215/60/14 and rears are 215/70/15.

Preparing the Satty for some nice epoxy primer... lots and lots of sheet metal bites, shards of sharp crap in my face and rotary wire brush perforated clothes, shoes and skin... not to mention all that gunk flying off the car, ending up in virtually every bodily orifice. Worth it? Of course it is.
