I recently did a repaint in my garage
I won't be doing anytime soon again
before
after never mind the date stamps it was done
well sort of anyway, Nov 29 2017
after the clear
out in the sun before any cut & buff
I had to see it
it has LL1 Surf Turquoise Metallic color,
base coat, clear coat, 3 of each
that's the best thing that I can say, the color was good...
I had about $800 in paint materials acrylic lacquer
another couple hundred in supplies
lots of time sanding & sanding some more
it's certainly not a show quality paint job,
it looks like a garage paint job
but it looks better than it did, especially for a driver
unfortunately;
I'm a little embossed & I lost my touch

poor lighting too
that's my excuse & I'm sticking to it
I had issues come up later "in the sealer coat"
we think
maybe some 6 months later I started to noticed
almost spider-web type cracking, under the color in a few places
or also looks like the primer shrunk, if that makes any sense
(
me & a painter buddy I had come look at it, guessed/determined, when the issues showed up)
If I had paid someone else, I'd be pissed

& they'd have to fix it...
But, I have only me to blame...
Oh well, such is life...
I "guess" I just have a good base "
for a good paint job later"
I enjoy driving it still
still get the thumbs up from everyone
but it's a real 20 footer
did this one for about $6k, 68 CJ5 frame off
with my neighbor
