I did mine with a hoist, motor and tranny already bolted together, but didn’t have a leveler, which would have made it a bit easier. It’s easy work, just a bit time consuming as you know.
Winter off season project engine compartment “clean up” and engine repaint.

Just a little update. Somewhat warmer in NY today so I pulled the car out of the garage a few feet, degreased and power washed the engine. Next step will be to scuff up what paint remains, clean and shoot it.

Just a quick update. Heads and front of engine done. Intake manifold and its brackets next in addition to ignition wire installs on shields for cylinders 6,8, and 7. Water pump housing and pump refinished and oil pump seals replaced. It’s all getting another light coat when water and oil pumps are replaced.
