wiw '79 Monza spyder

I have a somewhat rusty '63 convertible with a redone motor (not turbo). Runs very nice, still has the generator. Let me know if you need anything.
Thanks Lefty.

Good reply's thanks.
Sent the owner an offer of 2k. He says it runs good.
I think I am safe in that price range.
We will see how it goes.

About the only thing easy on the 8’s was changing the air filter, sorry, I had to work on them also at dealership.

How many miles are on that car? Can't remember the last time I saw one on the road. There weren't too many cars of the late 70's/early 80's that I liked but GM was at the bottom of the list. About the only things from the late 70's that I thought were decent for the money were pickups. Ended up owning 4 79 Dodge trucks over the years starting around 82. The Monza body style did catch my eye....until looking one over closely. A lot of people including me didn't think too highly of ChryCo during that time but GM wasn't any better....and may have been worse.

Not sure on the miles. I agree trucks were the high point in the late 70's and also vans.
This car is interesting to me being a factory v8 4 speed and its an oddball now, as they did not survive in ohio long I assume most were beat to death sometime during the 80's and 90's.
Not on the same level as a mopar but could be a cool budget car that still retains a certain "cool" factor simply by having the only one around.

I had a 76 Monza. Replaced 265 with 350. It was squirrelly as hell. And rattled apart. One of my few Chevy ventures. I also went thru a Pontiac phase. Starting with '66 GTO. But once caught the Mopar bug? Never looked back. Someday I may write my experiences. The pros and cons of Mopar vs GM. Don't have alot of experience with Ford. But I truly believe the Muscle car era was the best of times in US car manufacturing history. And all do deserve respect. If a (let's say) 69 Ford Boss 302 limped in not feeling well? I would learn Ford right quick!

I've had a small sampling of some of the "best" from both of the other camps.

buick 350
My mom had a buick 3.8 (in a pontiac!)
mom had a pontiac 389
olds 425
ford 351c
mom had a ford 5.0

I'd not trade a 318 for any of them!

(OK, the 425 was kinda fun)

There was one RoadKill episode where they bought a car like that one then hooked up a bunch of leaf blowers to try to make it a turbo.
