I guess it is better than sitting around waiting for the phone to ring.
Spent a joyous couple of evenings getting the new TTI 1 7/8" headers installed. It didn't go quite as easy as the instructions would lead a guy to believe, but they are in. I ended up having to pull the motor mount bolts and raise the engine until the bellhousing hit the firewall, and then dropping the steering link. Oh yeah, and then there was all the extra room left over to get the starter wires on. I sure am hoping I don't ever have to replace that. After getting them in, I realized how nice they fit. It is close in a couple of areas, but nothing terrible. No hammers or torches to make things fit was very nice :hello2:. Next up will be the exhaust.

The Hookers I installed on my car a few years ago required both motor mount bolts to be pulled, motor raised and center link dropped too. The cheap Headmans that were junk didn't require that much work when I first put them one. Header wrap killed those.

They are tight, but fit real nice. I have to imagine that the 2" and 2 1/8" would be a major headache.

They do look good in there Hunt. Headers are never fun to deal with but at least it's over and you can finish the exhaust. I can't believe how fast she's going back together. Keep up the good work.

Wow...Those headers look slick! I might not have caught it, but how did those brake lines fit for you?
The brake lines worked out fine Will. After the ordeal of buying the correct small jumper line from The Right Stuff because In-Line wouldn't sell me one :shruggy:. I need a couple fuel lines between pump and separator and carb - I'll be getting those from The Right Stuff.

H2E . . . Please save the shoe horn that you used to get those installed, I'm probably going to need to borrow it to get the HEMI in my Belvedere ! ! ! ( smile )

Good to hear Joel. Just think, in 4-5 short months we'll actually be able to take our mopars out of slumber and out on the road. Don't know about you, but this winter has been a beating. Frostbite 3 times already.

Umm no, I don't think so. No offense to anyone here who brings mirrors to car shows, but mine are made for driving and I really don't care if they get a few scuffs and scrapes on the underside.

No shoe horn required. You just need a hoist, cherry picker, and a kid with small hand to get the bolts started. If you weren't so far away you could trailer your project over this way since I know all the secrets now lol.

Yeah its been a long one. Especially for me being in the HVAC business - lots of service calls for no heat.

YES SIR!! It would be cool if you and Joel could get together some time, id love to have a side by side picture of one of Plymouth's best and one of Dodge's best side by side, both black, mean and cool! Frostbite 3 times isint a good thing but the weather we've had here lately would do it rather quickly i imagine, Its 11 out there now here and the winds blowing pretty good and im glad were in for the night!
The headers look really good!! Bet they will sound great to..
They are never really completed, are they? For sure this thing will be on the road when the grass turns green
