So what cam# did Santa deliver?

Hey grabber, it's the 704 cam. Voodoo hydraulic flat tappet. Super psyched!

Part number: 10230704
Advertised Duration (Int/Exh): 276/284
Duration @ .050 (Int/Exh): 234/242
Gross Valve Lift (Int/Exh): .513/.533
LSA/ICL: 110/106

SWEET HT413
Nice set-up!

Question to all as I am paralleling HT413s build...

For piston rings...
Non "RACE" engine...
1. Moly rings?
OR
2. Cast rings?

I'll add a dumb question to ski's good question. What's the best way to clean all these old parts I've collected? Just some shelf dust and maybe a little grit and grime from shipping. I guess I'll have the block professionally cleaned, but how about rotating assembly, rocker arms, timing set, etc?

I wash everything with soap and hot water (if they have already been cleaned of oil & grease) and then spray them off with carb cleaner and compressed air as I assemble it paying close attention to scrubbing out all of the oil passages. I usually just buy kerosene for degreasing since it works and doesn't run you out of the shop plus when your done it will help heat the shop haha.

moly rings. in a street application a top moly, cast second, standard tension oil rings will work fine. of course some of this will depend on pistons and ring width.

That's kinda what I've decided to run in my 470" B combo. I'm not quite as far along as you, but I have collected the block, crank, pistons, heads, intake+carbs, and headers.

Good luck with your build; I'll be watching in earnest.

HT413
Yeah, I just clean with Brake Clean, or sopay water and rinse.

My 440 block is in the Hot tank now.

Thanks fellas. My buddy is going to clean and assemble it all, but I don't want to be a shlemelle and hand him filthy parts. So I thought I'd pre-clean everything to save him time and show him a little courtesy.

We want to see some live action build pics too. When is the build going to start?

^^^^^^Yes, slap some going together pics up.

Will do! Just waiting to have my garage back together so I can have somewhere to work.

Not a whole lot of progress to report, but I did just drop off the stealth heads at my buddy's house. He's going to disassemble and bring to his machinist to go through them. We're then going to swap in the springs that lunati recommends we use.
