What did you do to your Mopar today?

Today, despite the oppressive humidity, I pulled the extra tach wire that had been installed on the Charger and got the fuseblock/bulkhead disconnect off the firewall so I could plug in the factory tach lead.

I also unwrapped the harness on the driver side of the engine compartment and pulled the battery hot wire out of it and re-wrapped it. I haven't yet decided if I'm going to pass the alternator/battery current through drilled-out cavities in the bulkhead disconnect or directly through a grommet on the firewall. I'm leaning toward the grommet and just filling the empty cavities in the bulkhead disconnect with dielectric grease.

Pulled the carbs on my crossram to check if any bolts lost their torque from gasket compression. Only one was on the low side. When I install a crossram retorque the bolts over a couple of days so gaskets compress and bolts don't loosen up.

Polished the front wheels on my 72 e-body, drained the oil, and ordered new ignition parts. Gettin' it ready for some racing.

Started squaring up the front end and setting gaps.
Right fender (door edge) still needs some help.
Might have to weld in some rod to reduce gap.

Front suspension is being built too . . . boy is it fun "adding" parts to the car instead of fixing rust ! ! !

Went for a little cruise today.

Today: Put a new breather on valve cover & put junk in trunk.

Yesterday: Drove around $65.50 worth (that didn't take long...) & re-fuelled.

Over last 2 weeks: Broke in & had installed (my lift unavailable & NOT going to wait any longer!) new stroked engine, complete TTi 2" headers + 3" exhaust to rear bumper, new fuel pump, serviced transmission & roared around a couple hundred miles getting used to new sounds/smells & etc.

Been so "busy" lately I didn't know if I would make it until earlier today.

I don't know how you do that so 'easily'.
The last time I let anyone (my dad) drive the car (he bought it new after all...) all my toes got cramped up from grabbing the floor with them. I don't let ANYONE get in the back seat either after it got 'wrinkly' from someone sitting there. The seat is fine now but I don't ever want to see that again.

I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little nervous. But Dale has had more than one Mopar muscle car and there are some other things which I'm very guarded about. It comes down to your life experiences.
I would freak out if I had to hold someone's baby.

Drove it to work today, roads nice and empty as most other people were off and was passing everyone both ways.

Maybe I'll take another early morning cruise Sunday if I can get my *** outta bed.

I spent the day with my 10-month-old grandson, but got out to the garage for a while after dinner and got the bulkhead disconnect reattached to the firewall, scrounged a wire out of spare harness to make a feed for the voltmeter, terminated the new 10 ga. alternator wire, and pretty much finished up re-wrapping the engine harness.

Drove it! Went to Good Guys today 2.5 hours each way. The Charger was at the Summit booth.

Dropped the bolts over the axles, now that the paint on the bolts is dry . . . and my hand made brake lines were done pretty nicely and did not hinder the bolt install . . .

Installing the oil cooler. Then need to figure out if the transmission has neutral on not. Also, I think it’s only hitting 5 of the 6 selections on the trans. The new linkage bracket may be hitting housing, so I may need to make a little clearance. Probably have to pull the pan again to put the endoscope up by the selector, is it called the “comb”?

Who needs pre-made brake lines, I like the do it yourself thing.
