Going to bed early usually means.....

Thanks Cranky, I'm glad somebody got the joke, and remembered Dr Peppers' advert slogan. It goes a LOOONG way back, and they used it for a long time.

You mean someone didn't get that? I saw it, chuckled to myself & kept reading.... Guess I'm a grumpy old man... Shoulda clicked a like...

After a career where working hours were
all over the map, once retired, my waking
hours are the same. When and if the need
arises it's addressed, and accepted.
I earned it. 46 years of alarm clocks
disrupting some of the best dreams.
Some I still vividly remember, and I wish
there were a sequel.

30+ years of rotating shifts (26 yrs 12hr shifts): sleep better 9am to 430pm, NO PEE NEEDED, 9pm to 430am, WTH, usually at 130amPEE DRAIN!! CAN'T FIGURE THAT OUT. SUM-BITCH!!!
Humans are not by nature nocturnal creatures... :)

Hell I'm sleeping in the recliner by 9pm most nights but up before 5am every morning even on weekends. When I was a child my dad always told me if you don't get your *** up your going to miss the best part of the day.....he was right.

when I was a kid mom gave me some really nasty tasting medicine and years later when I first had a DP, it reminded me of that med. It didn't make me gag though but that was the one and only sip of DP. The wife always had a can of it in her hand and one day when she noticed the 'supply' was down in the fridge she started asking me if I had been drinking it. I just laughed.

me always jump sleep
You do jumping jacks in your sleep?? :D

The rumor is that the primary ingredient, of the " 27 secret ingredients", is prune juice.

Damn rookies.... sheesh.
The original 23 flavors of Dr. Pepper are:
Amaretto, almond, blackberry, black licorice, caramel, carrot, clove, cherry, cola, ginger, juniper,
lemon, molasses, nutmeg, orange, prune, plum, pepper, root beer, rum, raspberry, tomato
and vanilla.
Add your various and sundry carbonated water, sweeteners, preservatives and such and wala.

(It was created by a pharmacist in Waco, TX in 1885 - one year before Coke!).
You'll notice the little number "23" on the label - that refers to the top secret 23 flavors in the mix
as I've listed above.
No prune juice.....ever. The current owners even make it a point to state such on their website.

Of course, I drink nothing but water or DIET Dr. Pepper, which has all those flavors as well - but
no "23" on the label, replaced by the word "Diet" instead - and of course, all manner of rat poison
artificial sweeteners and such in it.
A doctor of mine weaned me off Coke in the mid-90's in an effort to stave off early diabetes.
DDP was the only diet soft drink I could stand, so that was it.
Now? Sugary soft drinks taste like absolute shiyat to me. I'm ruined!

Oh - and a few years ago, when I saw that doc in passing in a store one day, he said "you aren't
still drinking that diet stuff, are you? That crap will KILL you!"

I damn near DID kill him, right there and then in front of witnesses....:mad:

I quit drinking ALL soft drinks many years ago and never did drink the 'diet' stuff. I do once in awhile have a Barq's root beer with pizza but a 12 pack of that stuff will last me for many months. IIRC, the last 12 pack lasted nearly 2 years lol. Any bourbon that I drink these days is mixed with lemonade and even that is watered way down. Was just mixing with water but that doesn't taste all that good to me....

I quit drinking liquids after like 10:30pm-ish

I go to bed at 12:00am/midnight usually
then I watch late-night oldies, turn the Tv off
when or if I don't fall asleep, with it on, maybe 1:00am
awaken at whenever the sun comes
thru my glass back door/on the back deck
5:00am-ish summer to maybe 7:00 winter (If I'm still sleepy)

I'm good with 4-5 hrs, too much more I feel lazy during the day

my 85y/o dad goes to bed at 10:30pm
(unless wrestling is on, he's up till 11:00pm, god I hate that fake ****)
he's up at 8:30am...
I don't know how he does it,
after taking naps all day every few hrs
an hr nap, in his recliner in front of the big screen TV, daily
& he's 'in bed' for nearly 10hrs too
he used to be an up early guy too, way before he had to give up the booze
after his heart surgery, other health stuff the past few years
& he was actually was still working or going fishing or RV-ing or something...
He just sleeps now

I do fall asleep in front of the TV after dinner, like 6:00pm-6:30pm-ish
boredom, my pre-bed nap :poke:
we eat early, I hate going to bed on a full stomach
my dad likes to eat dinner at 5:00pm

my dog is really good he waits till I start to stir
& then he wants out to chase squirrels
("Rocky" a big male grey squirrel likes to mess with him)
or birds/turkeys/deer

I used to be in bed probably 10:00pm when I worked a lot
now I'm fully retired, I just don't sleep like I used to
I'm not as tired early like I used to be either
I hate to just lay there & not be able to sleep
It was a lot easier when Lisa was still here, to sleep too...

Yeah, sometimes I think about having someone to sleep with too....then I get to thinking about the snoring and well....other crap too. So far 5 years by myself and to tell you the truth, it's not so bad anymore :)

This is the black girl that sleeps with me, most nights.

She's also the one that wakes me up......

You're probably better off with the hooch than I am with the rodent killer....

I can fall asleep at 8:00 at night and still sleep comfortably until 9:00 or 10:00 AM the next day.
37 years of construction where I had to be an early riser against my will didn't change my nature. I love to stay up late and sleep in.
When I've been off work and up until 2:00 AM or later, I'll see Richard Cranium join in since it is 5:00 AM where he is at that time...

It used to mean, some Candlelight Action, but that was a While Ago...

going-to-bed-early-usually-means-

The cats don't get their "overnight" food, and BOY do they let me know how they feel about that.

Usually sometime between 2:00 am and 4:00 am.
