62 Belvedere 318 poly granny cruiser (one day i hope)

That will make a nice stroker. It is probably just rusted up a bit.
It's soo slimed... whole front of the motor looks like 1" of grease from years of leaking covers.. factory 4bbl which i figured they would have dropped by 85.. gonna try to get some money out of the heads/intake if i can.. $50 on market place maybe... see if i can sell some of the crap to make up the cost of the block :)

Good plan.

K.. block showed up... nasty outside, pretty clean inside, no sludge but haven't pulled the pan yet.. has some rust in a couple of cyls but not TOO bad... i was kinda hoping the cyls were better and i might have just used it as is... i need to figure a way to get this to a machine shop now.. (i work too much)

Ohh.. and it's a 1985 block but not roller :(

Soaked the bad cyls for 1 night in that evapomixture that i posted bout and it cleaned up nice.. the top inch didn't get soaked due to the rings letting the level drop... but the motor turns over fine now so i can at least get it apart...

that's also the same batch i used like 3 times 6 months ago..stuff lasts really well..

I'm actually a bit afraid to drive my car.... i drive 6 miles to/from work... i saw 2 head on accidents on the way home today.... idiots staring at phones :( 6am driving to work is great.. coming home at 5 sucks

Got the cam bearings out of that block today.. now just oil galley plugs and it's ready for a machine shop..

First time messing with cam bearings, came out pretty easy.. except the last one, it would come out about half way then the tool felt like it was hitting the block... although the bigger lip was in the cam bearing journal.. ended up collapsing the bearing and pulling it...

Also mixed up a big batch of evaporust and have my rims soaking...\

Pulled the car out for the fist time in 6 months.. still need to bleed brakes and do little things before i drive it regularly...

Still don't like how in gear it doesn't really move unless i hit the gas.. like doesn't creep... not sure if it's the converter or what.. it's my first converter and don't know how it should feel.. would think with 4.30s it would just idle along on it's own no problem..

Put your foot on the brake and other foot on the gas and see how high the rpms rev before it starts to move. That'll tell you actual stall. If it's 3500 or so, then it probably won't move much. Also, could still be low on fluid. Check idling, hot in neutral, not park.

Haven't gotten much done.. finally had someone help me bleed brakes today... still a bit spongy, not sure why.. will figure it out... pulled the rims out of the tub.. pretty happy with how they came out...

Just drove my car for bout 40 mins... longest i have driven it.. no issues other than some rattle under the dash making me nuts.. no other real rattles... rear end is a little hard on bumps.. fixable. BUT... it has like NO power.... and no idea.. it has less than my v6 grand cherokee...

This was pretty much floored... just meh.... I get why guys just toss a 440 in and be done. It's almost like the car is fighting itself to get moving... really weird. Stall doesn't even seem to stall (supposed to be 3200)..

It's a FTI 9.5" 3200 stall and it seems to just grab.. not sure if lack of power can cause that or what the deal is there..

got the car in the air also.. exhaut off, driveshaft out. and i'm hungry... I wish i had room to store those 2x4 cribbings people put under the tires.. i could get the car quite a bit higher and feel safer

New TC showed up... Ordered on Tuesday, here on friday and had to be built. Good service...

Also the flexplate lugs aren't welded on, all part of a machined ring which is cool.. haven't seen that before.. now i have no excuse to not get this done :)

Dropped my 360 block at the machinist today... probably won't get it back til late summer but it's ok.. i might have him build the shortblock for me.. will see.

In another thread i was talking to someone bout trying to find these odd trim clips the '62 uses for the fender spear.. couldn't find any so i ordered some of these and used them...

(sorry bout the pics.. over heads were messing with my camera
First i bent them like this as the trim sits over a bulge in the fender so they can't be flush

Used 5 of them and the original spring clip for the back one you can't get to...

Held on nice and tight... trim is bout 1/8" higher than the door trim but my fenders are messed up (arizona fenders and expensive and they got something stacked on top of them in shipping and bent them bad... i did what i could...)

So the trim doesn't line up.. but nothing on my car lines up.. it really needs a new owner that can fix stuff properly :)

Got to drive a bit yesterday.. still way down on power but better.. going to take the front end apart in the next couple of days to double check cam timing.. right now i'm running 32*initial and 48 all in... (without vacuum)... Have tried everything else.. so thinking i messed up degreeing the cam.. This is what i get for not just going dot to dot like usual :)
