I see a lot of people asking what their car is worth, or what they should sell it for, and not sure if it's just wishful dreaming or what, but I didn't think from 72 up wasn't worth a whole lot unless a rare optioned car.
Mine according to the vin is a 72 SE, with a butt load of options, black vinyl bucket seats, multiplex am/fm radio, power steering, power disc brakes, rear window defog blower, ac car, dash clock, full vinyl roof, bumper guards, came original hemi orange, power windows, inside hood release, I'm sure other options I'm forgetting, only paid $3800.
Did I get a decent deal, or about right for this car? Needs some of the typical body work, and doesn't have the original wheels.

Sounds pretty loaded .. how about some pics so we have a better idea?

Bought it this past Monday, where...local seller, he owned it for the last 26 years, a bunch of pics in my profile/photo gallery, I'll add some interior pics soon

Looks like a nice car to me, I think you got a pretty good deal.
What engine trans and rear end are in it.

Well, you paid for it. The seller agreed to the price. So you are not in violation of the law. You did get a hell of a deal

He started his ad at 6k on craigs, then lowered it to 5k, I then negotiated to $3800

He also has a mint 67 Chrysler 300, I mean showroom mint, like the day it left the factory...not for sale either.

Hahaha, wife is the killer negotiator, she would have gotten it free with a pair of shoes

Day I brought it home, 4" snow 2 days prior

as long as there are no frame issues..I'd say a very good deal.... and good for you !!!

Frame and under carriage for the most part is clean, just lower body panels rust and some under the vinyl top, interior needs new carpet, drivers seat upholstery, one small dash crack, otherwise the interior is nice. After repairing the driver seat back, I'll be concentrating on the mechanical repairs, needs some carb work, exhaust leak at the manifold, and radiator replacement. Then I would trust it as a DD.

What motor?

I hate to disagree with you, but I don't think it's an SE.

Nearly all 72 (only) SE's had filler panels in front of the rear windows, which made the trim be almost vertical.

What's the first 5 or 6 VIN digits? An SE will be "WP".

Nice lookin' car, from what we can see of it.

Also, how is the cowl area under the windshield, around the vent, the door jambs, etc.

That can make or break the value of a 71-74.

If it's solid, than I say under 4K for a clean, running, driving car is a win.

Interesting car, it does have the SE pinstriping, but the rear quarter windows are not SE and does not have the standard concealed headlamps (hideaway's), does it have Charger SE on the woodgrain part of the dash? As YY1 says the VIN should tell you. Here's my 72SE, of course the Ramcharger hood is not original ;).
