Back in April, I decided to build a big stroker motor. I went 60 over on the pistons with a 4.5'' stroke. I wanted to reuse my six barrel carbs and intake but many people tried to talk me out of it. The easy thing to do would have been use a Super Victor manifold and big Dominator 4 barrel carb but I held my ground! I said screw the 4 barrel, I want the six barrel.

When all was said and done, that motor was way too much for that little Holley 350 CFM in the middle so we decided to take a Holley 500 and modify it to fit that middle slot. WHAT AN AWESOME SETUP! I owe all the credit to Gary Box at Box Performance Columbia Station Ohio.

Here are some pics of the work. A side by side with a Holley 350 left and a 500 on the right. The transformation took a little over two hours. Took some parts from the 350 and used them on the 500 and did a little cutting and grinding to the 500 carb body. Also had to drill a hole and install a tube to draw vacuum to open the outboard carbs. 0726142030.jpg0727141325.jpg0727141325a.jpg0727141356.jpg0727141448.jpg

Very cool job - nice work!

Let us know how it runs once you get it running and tuned...

Had it running on the stand and sounds real strong. You can have a listen at my facebook page. John Macar

Wonder if its the only one in the country with that setup? :hello2:

That's a pretty cool idea - and setup! I have a six pack too on a 440 stroker. Got 555 hp out of mine on the dyno - what are/do you think you'll be getting out of yours? Mine is only 30 over. I love the idea. Doubt if there's many if any like it.

Sounds incredible, now let see it in the RR.

Used a big comp cam and ported Indy heads.

Thanks! I plan on installing it next weekend. I have to finish running the fuel system and getting the driveshaft cut. Then we will see what it can do.... Hope these will hook up.

NICE, the motor looks awesome. I need a set of those MT's on mine.!

I would estimate 700HP+ and about 600+ ft lbs torque but that's just a guess, could go either way. I would imagine I'm somewhat limited by the manifold but I did have a plate welded to the base of the intake so there was enough metal to port match to the heads. I am very happy with the throttle response on the run stand, be sure to check it out on my facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=824540360891671&set=vb.100000071435223&type=2&theater

Thanks! I went with the OEM 15x10 rims 5.5 backspace and the MT 295 55x15'' perfect fit! Buy the pair from Summit and they will mount and balance for free.

That motor will be plugging this hole on Saturday!10526142_816173541728353_6969991717322672554_n.jpg

How wide and how mch room is left over with those bad boy tires?
And, can I get a shot of the passenger side center carb where the vacuum port was added. I'm thinking basically the work done to it is just a copying of the OE center carbs port location?

Oh! Just noticed you posted the tire size while I was writing.

As you can see in the photo, there is 1'' between tire and spring, 1'' on either side of top of the tire an inner fender and as far as front to back, 1.5'' and front and 4'' back.

I will take a photo of the pass side of the carb tomorrow but we mirrored the OEM carb by grinding a flat spot and drilling a hole in the same location and pressing in a piece of tubing.

The 500 made a huge difference in the idling ability and throttle response. Prior to the change, about 1150 was the best we could get it down to and as you see in the video, it was idling at 400-500 without stalling, I will set the idle about 800. Oh, total timing was 36.5, and I used the white springs in the vacuum secondaries.

Not sure what it would Dyno at, its pretty radical.

Sorry it took me so long but here is a look at my carbs from the passenger side. Hope this helps.
