You have to careful when giving your “I don’t want to sell it” price. I had a guy follow me home after a show and started counting out $100 bills. LOL.
Yep & it better be "high" market value + someAt the end of the day, the older I get, the more everything I own can be bought. How much is the question.
I bought my coronet at a car show, it wasn't for sale.
It was for sale at a dealership by the owner on a consignment deal, he then decided he didn't want to sell and took it back home. Years later I bought it.Not to get off topic but I thought you bought your car from a dealership?
A friend of mine had his '69 Road Runner at a show in Kentucky and a local cop bothered him all weekend. He finally through him a ridiculous price (he never told me what it was) and the guy took it. Not sure how he got back home. Most keep pushing after I say it's not for sale and when I give an unrealistic number, they will scoff and say really!?
If the price was ridiculous.....not a problem gettin home lolA friend of mine had his '69 Road Runner at a show in Kentucky and a local cop bothered him all weekend. He finally through him a ridiculous price (he never told me what it was) and the guy took it. Not sure how he got back home.
Nine out of ten people that want to buy the car have no idea as to the real market value these days. THeyre always much lower than what the car is worth. So yeah it is annoying and flattering at the same time. I just say make me a market value based offer and they don’t know how to respond. They just say nice car and walk away.
If it was ridiculous enough we would have stopped at a bar, drinks on me and took a cab home!!If the price was ridiculous.....not a problem gettin home lol
Thats why the dead uncle works. Would love to sell it. Stick your head in hear and take a whiff. They usually turn and walk away. That's kind of how I try to respond as well. Its just weird because the last two people that asked me would not take no for an answer even after I told them no and its sentimental.
