What is everyone working on in the off season.

Made some headway on the Hemi today. Being that the Dart doesn’t come home till later September I guess this can be classified as the off season.

The hemi is finally together now and I can share some details.

So the 1250 worked out ok?

Nothing like the sound of a Hemi, even on the dyno. Nice numbers

. we all need to take great precautions with the pandemic, thousand people a day dying, please be cautious.
definitely time to work, and save some$$ at the same time
I tossed the 68 cuda project-again more rust than steel. apparently when a seller says "rust free" they mean -no extra charge.
I've moved on to a real rust free '72 Duster. Wilwood front brakes and coil over suspension, Dana 60 with spool in rear with 4 links and coil overs- roll cage etc. fiberglass hood.trunk lid and bumpers. waiting for the return of the engine as usual, the machine shop (awesome people really) saying completed it by friday for 5 fridays in a row- this Friday no exception. I still have other things to do. debating on trans.I have a 727 auto, a mopar 4 speed and a 3 speed lenco. right now first choice is the automatic.
if Doug Nash still made a pro shift kit for the 4 speed I'd do that.

:lowdown:801 Torque/ 1,011 Horsepower...
Yeah, it's guys with engines like that that are going to have me telling the builder of my 541 RB stroker "what do we need to do to accommodate nitrous, and where are the modification-to-horsepower turning points.
If I don't need any "special" build considerations for 150 shot, I may well call that good. Even if I can get away with a little more nitrous HP with timing adjustments, good. What I'd rather avoid is stuff that degrades the "off nitrous" performance or reliability. Wherever that line is, I'll probably stay below it.
I figure getting the NA power to the ground will be my biggest challenge, but a little "insurance" or headroom once I'm rolling, say the 2nd half of the 1320, yeah, I'd like to have that available. I still won't get to the level you're at!

@Dodge 330

1. That's not chrome. It's black paint.

2. I have trouble keeping the temp on the nitrous bottle at 91° or approx. 1000 psi on cold evenings. This is for a bottle heater "system" that is self contained. It came with the relay, heater and switch that turns off when pressure is reached. The battery dock is a 3D printed piece that I found online. The plate we made with a bracket for the toggle. This way I can flip the switch and it will maintain temp/pressure without draining power from the main battery. It is already installed and works REALLY well!

B body is in hibernation till spring. A body is back for off season work.

Year 3 starting out on the Dart. Here’s where things are at.

Dropped the KB 572 in the other day. It’s been in and out a couple times now modifying, altering.

Spent a couple of full days underneath. Everything now fits. TTI headers, amazing fit, no room to spare. But the first set of headers ever that I could use a torque wrench on all 18 mounting flange bolts.
Too bad this transmission has to come back out again. Upgrading the front drum to a billet unit for safety.

This has been a fun and challenging project and it doesn’t matter which side, underneath, on top, in front or behind. There is just no room for error.. Even the under dash bracket with the MC mounting studs had to come out, studs relocated 3/8” higher and re-drilled in the firewall, now with the offset block there’s 1/4” clearance at the valve cover for the MC. This off season project is coming good, will be finished this winter but still lots to do.

Thanks Bearman.
Yes the old project Dart is turning out pretty good. And there’s no doubt that The Grandson is thinking that but he knows that my camp is based on merit, not entitlement.
