Ok, just want to know if the engine sounds for this movie Mopar are the real deal or did they dub something else in? Sounds like my E body 4 speed. What do YOU think?
Naw a 70 Challenger never had that good of stereo... LOL
Seriously though, the sound is that of an American V8, might be the Challenger, another Mopar or maybe something else. I am sure this will create some chaos but I think if you put the same exhaust on any 2 American V8 engines with similar cams/build they are going to sound pretty much the same regardless of manufacturer.
Not a Chivvy fan huh?I like the sound of the camaro hitting the dozers, at the end.
Just glad they used it, instead of a chally. Not a Chivvy fan huh?
Love it!! What ever made the sound affects, sounds great!!
Me as well. I know they used 3 or 4 Challengers for the movie; but one of those had to be majorly beat to **** as you'd see in some scenes and they still saved it. Anyway, much as I got to like Kowalski...I don't want him delivering any new rides for me, lol.Just glad they used it, instead of a chally.
They used that sound effect in countless movies - yeah - a '76 Buick Skylark all of a sudden with a stick and throaty exhaust, lol.Whether it be real or added in, the sound is great. I've always been VERY happy they didn't go 'shift crazy' the way BULLET was dubbed. Good lord, how many times did McQueen shift that 'Stang during the famous scene? 200? 300? 400?
Ha ha ha ! I thought the same thing, when i first saw it.Me as well. Chevy and Mopar V-8s Are both 18436572.E bodies are relatively "new" to me - my first love are my 2nd gen Chargers. You may think I'm crazy but the same engine, same exhaust, sounds different in these two models. Maybe auto v manual makes a difference, I'm certainly no expert. My experience is that the Chargers are...crankier than the E bodies. When I watched this movie after getting my 440 4 speed, I kinda thought the engine sound was different but then drove my car and was surprised how much it sounded like the car in the movie. I'd be curious if you put the same exhaust on a Chevy V8 would it sound the same as a Mopar? If I'm not mistaken, the firing order is different because my GM mechanic friend is always baffled by the firing order on my 440's. Then there's the Hemi which has a completely different sound and behavior.
To be honest, when I'm at a car show, I can tell the difference between Ford, Chevy and Mopar. To me, the best sound is the Mopar.
