So this happened today. A local junkyard is all done. The owner passed away and the family sold off most of the stuff. Me and my buddy went by and bought some stuff really cheap. As we wandered around the property we found 4 old station wagon roof racks. Pretty beat up but good for the most...
My water pump pulley got damaged in the process of removing it. I am looking to get another one but the dimensions aren't the same as the ones listed for sale. My pulley is 2 groove and about 5 1/4" in diameter. The ones I see listed are 5 7/8" diameter. The depth is about 1 7/8". Is it from an...
My wagon. 65 Belvedere.
The old OEM heater assembly is in pretty sad shape So I bought a completely refurbished one from a 4 door sedan. I'm hoping to remove the old and install the new in one shot.
My question is, can I remove the old one with the dashboard still in the car? I just want to...
I bought a roll of the vinyl floor mat from 69bfan. It's for my 65 Belvedere wagon. I made a panel to cover the spare tire well out of plywood, all painted up in the color as close as I could get to the interior. What is the best adhesive to use? The panel will be on hinges so it's not mounted...
My good buddy puts on local collectible shows a few times a year. At his show this past weekend he got Richie Stotts to attend. If you don't know who that is, he's the original guitarist for the Plasmatics. One of my favorite bands from years ago. This guy is a real class act. He stayed over at...
I had a little problem with my 8 3/4. The dust shield at the yoke was rotted. c.moo sent me one for nothing. Doesn't even know me from a hole in the wall. Good guy and I'm grateful for it. It worked out well and the axle is now at my buddies shop for refreshing. Thank you c.moo.
Is there a difference in the size of the vent bolt for an 8 3/4? I took the one of my spare from a 65 B-body Wagon 741 case and it was too big for my 69 A-body 741. Also the two had different splines.
Does anybody have one or know where to get one? I tried a few other Mopar ones that I had but they don't fit in the filler tube hole. Just slightly too big.
Hi all. I'm looking for a RH front turn signal for my 65 Belvedere wagon. I had some problem with my front turn signals and did a re-wire. Drivers side works great now. The passenger side not so much. The socket is in pretty bad shape and I never had a lens for it. I switched it out to the other...
What are you all using for after market gauges? There is so much junk being sold that I don't know what's a good reliable make. I have some Bosch but I already had to replace the temp gauge after less than a year. Now since I just did that little fix where you run a 10g wire with a 14g fusible...
So I did a little search here and couldn't find the answer. I got the proper fuel tank lock ring and rubber gasket from a source here. The aftermarket one I installed leaks when the tank is full. My question is, should I use any kind of lubricant on the rubber gasket to help it slide/seal better?
What are you using for a coil? My car 65 Belvedere wagon with 360 small block, nothing radical, electronic ignition conversion, Summit distributor. I need something a little better than stock. It seems like all the stock stuff I get lately is junk. What's a good quality coil that can handle the...
I am thinking of replacing the engine wire harness for my 65 Belvedere wagon. It's a 360 small block with electronic ignition conversion. What brand is good and what should I stay away from?
Thank you to all the good advice on my 1406 Edelbrock issues. The newest issue is now the fuel pump. It's stock and less that 2 years old. Already starting to give me problems. Sometimes the clear plastic fuel filter is empty and the pressure will dip below 2 psi. I decided on the Edelbock fuel...
So this just happened. My wife and I were in my 65 Belvedere wagon. In the middle of a rotary it decided to huff and puff and stall out. I was able to get far enough over for cars to get by but it's no fun dodging traffic while diagnosing the problem. I checked the basics, I always carry...
I got to meet some real cool people today and they were more than happy to take pics with my Belvedere wagon.
Cherie Currie from the Runaways.
Ritchie Ramone from the....well you know, the Ramones.
Here's the deal. When I bought my late 70s 360, it came with an aluminum intake and the 1406 carb. Earlier this year I had it rebuilt by an old timer here in my town. The 360 has a mild torquer cam, under-chassis headers and duals. Nothing major, just a cruising motor. Now that I'm up and...
Dialing in my 65 Belvedere wagon that I just installed a 360/727. The MP electronic distributor seems to be worn and time for a replacement. It was from the old engine that I did the electronic conversion a few years back. The 360 is mostly stock late 70s truck motor. Top end is fresh, mild cam...
In my 65 Belvedere, I have an aftermarket Bosch temp gauge. The sending unit was acting up, sometimes working, not working blah blah blah. Well the threaded stem seemed loose and was moving when I tried to unscrew the nut. And the nut seemed to be somewhat stripped. I had a stock sending unit...
