This got ugly August 14th. Had a fuel line fitting come loose while starting it in garage and, it caught FIRE. RH inner fender, motor needs re-paint, burned for a good 1 min before I could shut it off & grab extinguisher. 1st time and LAST that will happen. So waiting on shop to get it in for repaint etc. I did get the 2nd carb (4365), moved the rear to the front, new 4144 is on and new 4365 at the rear with PROMAX baseplate. Carter 6903 fuel pump, filter AFTER pump, flushed lines, bought a re-man distributor from CLASSIC IND.
I'm not to sure about this distributor?? Looks fine, I wonder if they got it right? Carb settings were NOT disturbed before I started it. Lined up rotor according to pics I had taken before sh"t melted. It started up at about 2,000 rpm. Before all of this when car ran great, I put a Timing light on it just to see, at 17° the mark on balancer was coming up in center hole of timing tab. Now? NO CLUE where timing is, LoL I cant seem to get it right. I can get it to idle at 950/1,000 and have had to lean out the rear carb. As PROMAX says their plate's screws are 1.5 turns out. (Not any longer). Ive set them various points. When it's idling at 950/1,000 it will backfire or "Deisel" when shutting it off. Its a mess. My alternator is only putting out 11.56 Volts. Wondering if I may have fried Voltage Regulator? The #3 Holley (4365) just shipped today. This is a HAGERTY ins claim. And have no clue how long it will be before shop gets it in. (I have no paint booth). I'm gonna have to put all of the BURNT ends back on it and wait for the shop to do it all anyway...
I just wanted to hear it run and get some oil through the damn thing that's been sitting for 3+ months now.. Whatta F mess.
At least fire was contained. Could have been worse!

Coil? Bought 2 harnesses from Yr One, and with BOTH Green & Blue "Field" wires hooked up, the BLUE one began to freakin MELT! Caught it before more damage, but might have overheated something.. Rear plugs were BLACK, so I know wayy to "Rich", can also tell by rear carb's airhorn.. Seemed as if I couldnt get the center carb's throttle plates completely closed off, to get idle down, (Note the crazy return Spring)"Before and, As it sits NOW... Those "HiRev 7500" ECU's? I'm leaving it for a few days. All the new parts will probably have to come off anyway due to being an Insurance job...uuuugh
