Music that puts a lump in your throat.

Taps always reminds me of the funerals of the fallen patriots in my families past.
Cat Stevens the cats in the cradle also reminds me of my father and makes me sad but in a good remembrance way if that makes any sense.

'American Pie'...

Animals, with Eric Burdon (spell ?)
most everything during the VietNam era...

Creedence 'who will stop the rain'

'Green Onions', by Booker T & the MGs
takes me back to a better time & thinking of American Graffiti
drag race scene (I know a different type lump)

'Wild Thing' by the Troggs
they use to play it over the PA system
when I'd come up to do a burnout with my 23 Altered
Wild Thang (yeah I know a different type of lump in my throat)

'Unchained Melody' by the Righteous Brothers
Or Ottis Redding "sitting on the dock of the bay"
just a cool song, gives me chills sometimes thinking about my Mom...
(she loved it, she'd ask me to replay it a lot)

The 'national anthem' in its regular traditional rendition
to this day, it still makes me feel patriotic/proud, emotional
(as long as it's not butchered, stylized/changed up by some douche singing it)
Whitney Houston's rendition was freaken' great...
Yes, she was a truly messed up person, but she could sing that song,
the way it needed to be sung...

Cats in the cradle was Harry Chapin, God rest his soul.

This puts a lump in my throat & a tear in my eyes too...

Some of Toby Keith's songs,
especially any of his tributes to the military & our country

Taps is another one that gets me every time.

“God Bless the USA by Lee Greenwood
“America the Beautiful” by Ray Charles

and Yes Whitney was incredible singing the National Anthem.

Plenty more but these are my favorites - It’s very rare for me not to tear up when I hear these songs done well. Now days I still feel that way - but also sad at the same time for what’s happening in our beautiful Republic…..

This is the final song from Crazy Stupid Love.

This is a song sang by Sweetbread in Cadence. His story after the movie is pretty tragic, until someone helped him clean up and he gets money form the YouTube video. This is a heart ripper.

They used to play this for the fireworks show at Epcot. His family is in the audience, do you you think they are Jewish? This was back when immigration was a bit better. You may have to ignore politics with him.
