Slowly but surely getting a hang of the E85. Figured out it likes heat in order to be consistent. Wants to be close to 180 at the line. When it is its pretty much prints tickets. Last week 6.983, 6.986, 6.983 and a 6.983.
This weekend 6.97 off the trailer then 6.960, 6.955 and a 6.96. Now if the damn driver could get consistent.

Its been a fun learning curve. Even got a new best 60' at 1.498. It usually 60's around 1.51-1.52.

Nice job on the new best!
Magnolia put up a nice picture of you on their latest Facebook post.

NICE.

Consistency = grail!

You can always tell who is running e85 in california. They are the guys warming up their engine in the lanes.... in 90° weather, lol.

That’s really cool.

Where can I see more pics of this wagon, and run-down on your combination?
I'll post some more photos.

The combo is nothing special but it works well and is fun to drive and race.

400 block with a 44Source 4.25 crank and rods. Pistons are Diamond. I run unported Edelbrock Performer heads. Nick Wilson corrected the valve job. Compression is 11.5.

Cam is by Comp duration at .050 is 242 and 246(I believe its been together for 6 yrs). List is around .557. Untouched M1 intake and a quick fuel 1050 Dominator done up by Lightning Carbs in Orlando Fl

Auto trans, 9.5" converter from PTC, dana with 410 gears. Launch is at 2500 and shift at 5500. Car weighs 4120 with me in it.

Thats me Lol. People are looking at me like I'm nuts. I get it to 180 when I'm one car back from entering the water box, turn on the fans do my burn out, temp is down to 175 as I stage, fans off and then race. Hits 180 at the line and fans back on. Temp is 165 when I pick up the ticket.

I drove a friend of mine's car for a couple races. Mid 10s 12 to 1 440, on e85. First thing he told me, it's got to be WARM when you pull out of the lanes. Idling in the lanes, with the fan and water pump off. Turn the pump on, and pull out.

I'll post some more photos.

I ran the NHRA conversation table and looks like you are knocking on the door to 10s in the quarter. That is a very uncomplicated combo to run those numbers. Congrats.

The chart I have says 6.95 is 10.84, but I believe that chart is optimistic. But, I always figured, and 6.9x was in the 10.9x range. 7 flat is 11 flat to me.

It would be real close. At Norwalk ran a 7.01 in the 1/8 and a 11.049 in the 1/4 at a almost 122.mph.
One problem I run into is when I run the 1/4 I have to switch to bias ply slicks that are 29.5 tall vs the Mickey PBR's which are 28" tall. The 60' suffers a little and its usually 1.53-1.54.

Is 5500 a self imposed limit, or does it quit pulling?

car/wagon looks & runs great

congrats on the new passes

5500 is where it runs the fastest. Both in the 1/8th and 1/4.
In the 1/4 I was crossing the stripe right at 5950-6000. The old girl is pretty much all out. of steam at 5800. That's with the taller tires. With the PBR's its closer to 6300.

Every time i started short shifting my 440, it ran the same or quicker. Started at 6300, now im shifting at 58-5900. .557 purple shaft.
