Is there any advantage to installing a non-tinted windshield? Maybe for us old-timers (60 plus) we can see better at night with a non-tinted? Never understood if tinted meant that strip on top or all of the glass. Thanks for any info.

With the color of your car I think a not to dark tint would look really good and be okay with night vision....in my opinion. Good luck, :headbang:

If you are tall, the shade line may be in your line of vision and can be annoying.

IIRC A/C cars got tinted glass as standard.

Myself, I would match the windshield to the rest of the glass.

I'm in your age category. And the advantage to a tinted windshield - matched to the rest of the glass - is it looks cool. Personally I find it more difficult to see at night with tinted and stayed with factory 68 clear. Up to you but if night vision is a challenge I'd stay with the regular glass. If you want to look cool go with the tinted...

not always true, but it is a general rule for the cars. I have seen many factory AC cars without tinted glass, but that's fairly rare to see

My 66 Charger has no AC, yet has tinted glass all around

I put a non tinted windshield in my driver onetime.
I can't recall it has shading on top.
(It's stacked in my tool shed).
Anyway, as soon as I could get a tinted one from the junk yard I changed it.
I could really feel the heat difference here in Georgia.
I would think in So Cal you would need it too.
Unless you have some night vision problem and drive at night, I wouldn't think that should matter.
I don't have any problems and I drive every night on dark roads with factory lights.

Sort of off topic.
I've thought about changing to LED headlights but they are too much
