back during the riots, i obtained strip steaks, meat factory processed, vacuum sealed, frozen.
been frozen in the packages since.
what - 18 months?
ya think they're still good?
@MarPar

As long as the vacuum packaging is still in tack and there's no freezer burn your fine. 440'

How long were they under your jacket?

should be
if it didn't get freezer burn
especially if it was vacuum sealed
if
it still looks red,
or unless it's got sealed with some sort of marinade or dry rub,
making it not look red
it should be still good

hopefully you never lost power during that time
or it thawed out at a min.,
otherwise should be OK

Just thaw them and if they look ok start cooking. If they are bad you will know it. If you don't post again I guess I was wrong. Sorry.

If you send them my way I’ll let you know. Lol

also which grocery store were they looted from ? Some stores have better meat than others. Just kidding. Lol

Old joke:::What happened when the butcher shop got caught on fire????????????????----------------The butcher grabbed his meat and beat it.

Meat won't go "bad" if kept frozen long time. The original taste, texture and moisture content will change. To go bad, as-in make you sick, will only happen if it goes in the freezer bad. Bad bacteria don't thrive in frozen meat. The fact it was vac-packed is a good sign it'll still be tasty but not as tasty as fresh never frozen beef.

The nose knows. Thaw it and if it smells off, pitch it. If it smells like, well meat. eat it. If the vacuum seal and plastic is good, it should be fine.

when in doubt, throw it out

story line.......
restaurant was closed for the beginning of the plandemic in downtown shitcago.
the 'authorities' lightened up the restrictions, they were allowed to reopen.
employees undertook a massive cleaning.
they reloaded supplies. open for a few days, riots started.
they were broken into, only the register was pilfered.
nothing else was touched.
insurance told them to throw out everything.
i drive a work van, loaded with tools.
boy1 and i filled the truck.
other tradesmen in the building filled their trucks. 4 or 5 guys.
don't remember what i obtained.
i only grabbed frozen product, chops, steaks, burgers
i passed on all the refrigerated product.
especially the chicken. didnt want that juice in the truck.
sausage, rib eyes (i wish i grabbed some), ribs, shrimp, fish. ready made pizza dough. bread. rice. pasta. eggs.
dont remember seeing ground beef. vegetables. i did leave cheese.
it was hot out, don't remember what month.
the floyd festivities were held from late may '20 to early august '20
vacuumed packed everything that wasn't, that night.
probably gave away 1/2 of it to neighbors, after overfilling my freezers
the op question, i have around a dozen or pre packed steaks left, i 'found' hidden in back of a freezer
owner of the restaurant had multiple other venues, never reopened this one
