Anyone try these carbs?

Hi all,

I’m looking to try a 750 cfm double pumper on my ‘68 Super Bee - 383 4 speed. I was googling refurbished units and saw a ton of these. I’m skeptical to begin with, but curious if anyone has tried these and if they are any good.

Just a thought , if Holley actually does the refurbishment then you know even the things like bleeds and orifices have been checked and corrected. That I would feel comfortable with.

Yeah…I was thinking about a Holley refurbished units and since I just want to try it and not pay full price. These came up, but they aren’t real Holley’s.

I'm curious as to why you want to "try" this particular carb ? Me, I wouldn't risk throwing away a few hunnert bux.

I’d like to see what the difference is if any between my current 650 vacuum secondary and a 750 mechanical secondary.

100 cfm, and the 750 secondaries will open up based on foot-on-accelerator vs. engine vacuum. Is there an overall objective you're trying to do, ex. any pre or post mods in mind ? ?

No mods…stock 383. Just interested in seeing any difference between the vacuum and mechanical carbs.

Don't waste your money. Leave the vac carb on as is. The vac carb opens secondaries on demand, the mech carb opens secondaries on foot.

The extra fuel, washing the oil out of the cylinders will cause extra engine wear and screw up your fuel milage. Think twice here!

Yes they aren't real holleys,, they're just really better than holleys . So good in fact, holley bought the company.

I've heard good things about Brawlers. I bought a remanufactured Street Avenger direct from Holley for my Corvette, but I have not installed it yet. The price is good (about $250 less than a new one) and everything looks like new. I'll see how it does whenever I get her running again. I'm still gathering parts for that build while I finish the latest round of work on the Satellite.

ENGINE Demand. Depending on engine vacuum and the diaphragm/spring rate of the pod. The venturi air velocity will determine the rate of opening.

Granted it's media ..but semi respected David Freiberger and legend Steve Dulcich have used a bunch of those on RK and EM episodes...and like them.
