A fuel pressure regulator ONLY reduces the fuel pressure. It will NOT increase the pressure, only a pump will do that. It seems that you might creating your problem with the regulator...

I know that but some mechanical pumps will produce more than desired fuel pressure and you have to lower the pressure down. For instance this Edelbrock is at 7psi, that pretty high for carburetors. A lot of carburetors would flood at this pressure. Mine isn't at this time, so i'm going to monitor. BTW. I had the regulator turned all the way out so the pressure should have been what the pump was putting out.
 
Took car for a drive and it runs a lot better, much more power than the AVS2 650 I had and torquer manifold. Now have the VRS 750 and performer rpm manifold. Oh yeah when I took off in first and then second gear my son and I heard something either come off the car or we ran over something. Got home and couldn’t find my phone. Can you guess what the noise was? SMH I left my phone on the roof when I put my 4 pin lift off hood. I got really lucky and found my phone and it has minor damage- everything works lol

One time I put my phone on top of a Honda and drove about 2 miles before I thought I left the phone at home. I was stopped at a light and got out.....The phone was still on the roof.
Rubber case on the phone and Honda torque equals NO movement of the phone on the roof!
 
Hey just a suggestion, get rid of that glass inline fuel filter... they are not track approved and big fire hazards, use a metal one. For testing I get it but I just would hate to hear it burned up and I had mine leak on the intake never again.
 
I am a fan of the Holley red pump for a street car. Jegs etc do knock offs for a lower price.
 
Standard rubber fuel lines nowadays? NO! If you run ethanol blends they rot and clog from the inside. Buy fuel injection rated lines, and use fuel injection rated hose clamps.

I am glad you got things working fine. I was thinking why anyone with a HP BB Mopar running a mechanical pump would do anything less than a Hemi pump. Why didn't I think about that when I had my 70Bee? Nowadays I concentrate on 1st Gen CTD's

I've used them in a few cars and never had a problem with them.
 
The track out here said nope fire hazard as they vibrate apart and leak.
 
I hope yours never does ... I’m not being a smart *** either I wouldn’t wish it on anyone..
 
But... it's q-u-i-e-t. I gave up traditional pumps ( Holley red, blue, Carter, etc. ) many years ago. Too LOUD ! A gerotor pump is a different method of liquid delivery which results in substantially quieter operation.
I might try one of those. I replaced a Holly with a Carter, both overly loud
 
Never had problem with Wix or Fram plastic filters.

Of course the lines running in and out of mine are completely straight putting no bending load on the filter body.

The Wix and Fram are all plastic, and most likely thermal bonded. The ones in the link are part metal and most likely crimped. I should have specified what I meant by "cheap". I've used the name brand plastic filters for years (on cars with questionable fuel tanks) and never had issues.

I just went in an bought the metal ones.
1994 bought a 1968 Chrysler 300 TNT 47000 miles fairly loaded 2dr hdtp. Drove it home 200 miles change 3 fuel filters in 200 miles. Sold it with 54,000miles was a very close to being a time capsule.
Sometimes I wonder why do I love our first Gen Chargers so much?
I could take the 300 to the track and do a 14:94, put the fender skirts on turn on the air and go on. A road trip.
