Know the area well.I had a 1976 911.......pretty easy to work on as it is just a VW on steroids........135 mph across the San Rafael bridge (SF Bay Area) to Sausalito, no problems!

Ha ha, i saw this on facebook just other day, somebody claimed photoshop....i cant tell, rear wheels of pickup are squatted. I cant see somebody cutting up a 24 window though....as far as i know, they are getting over 100 k now for done right original. Sure a great looking duo.
Oh Yes.....Money....the sound of that air cool flat 12 is mezmerizing. I almost bought a 904 in 1975 for 7500.00.....kick me like the energizer bunny. My mother had a 1978, 928. When she sold it, I didn't want the upkeep costs. My buddy still has it.
Most bad-*** car ever built.........917

Just buy it, there is nothing like the way a Porsche handles on a twisty mountain road........or anywhere else for that matter!
'lift throttle oversteer' they can turn into real handfuls. The 'Goose had it bad.....demanded very careful throttle adjustments @ speed.Just don't let off the gas in the corners and all will be well.
I like the GTV Alfa.I have owned a few, parts can be very expensive for vintage air cooled now. 914 is a very neat under appreciated car. Still own the Viper Green 911 but sold the others.

dem ain't 'bolt ons!'
I'm looking at a manual 996 and toying with buying it. I have an empty garage and really need a fun car to fill it. I figure Porsches are just like any other performance car.. as long as the maintenance is kept up it should be gtg. And the IMS issue for the 996s has already been addressed on this one. And the 996s are probably the most affordable of the 911 models (I am meh on the headlights though).
I used to have an '04 M3 that was a blast to drive and was actually fairly practical.. except I hated that it was a BMW. Everything was ridiculously expensive, and everywhere I went people assumed I was loaded/snobby. Nope! I wanted to yell I JUST HAVE A LOT OF DEBT!
Anyway, curious if there's any knowledgeable Porsche/Mopar owners on here.
