Agreed....leftover rice can be more dangerous to your health than under-cooked chicken.
 
There are lots of different kinds of rice in the world but I am not going to eat that white **** if its the last thing to eat on the planet.
 
It depends. Is it made from real Chinese?
 
I’ve eaten in some back alley places in Saigon and elsewhere in SE Asia i.e. Cambodia, Burma etc that would make your head turn. One time I was in Hoi An in central VN. It was raining and I was sitting in a covered balcony at a restaurant. THis big rat the size of a raccoon. Comes walking by and goes into the kitchen. I put down my drink, asked for a menu and ordered dinner. I guess you just had to be there. True story..... Wouldn’t do it again tho....

We have a regionally famous local Chinese restaurant. When the food is good it’s the best on the planet, seriously. But I’ve been poisoned probably four times in twenty five years there. The food can be so good that we all are willing to risk it. Anyway...
They bring their servers over from “the old country”, and despite what the banjo picking Deliverance crowd thinks about them taking jobs from whites it’s the only way to get staff. But I digress...
Housing is provided as part of their contract. Probably twenty years ago I was called in to paint the place that the staff stayed in. It was an actual opium den, just like you see in old movies. Mattress strewn on the floor, garbage everywhere, everything. The closets were actually used as bedrooms, because as it turns out if you’re shorter then six feet you can sleep in a six foot wide closet.
Fast forward to 2007. Wife and I buy our current house in a nice neighbourhood. Across the street is the other staff house. The staff are now our neighbors. They were friendly, polite, happy people. Caused us ZERO problems.They could not have been nicer. But the house was infested with bedbugs.
It has since been sold and cleaned up, but we still wonder whatever happened to all of them.
 
You can get food poisoning any restaurant. A popular local restaurant I order ribs, came with a side order of broccoli rabe. 4 hours later felt sick, spent the night near the toilet. Vomited the last of the rabe at 8 am bam all better. Rabe was only blanched, that won't kill anything. Only time I was sick from a restaurant meal, never at home. We do the when in doubt throw it out.
 
Dam some are way more forgiving on the food poisoning. I have not been back to KFC in almost 50 years. Took four days before anything would stay down.
 
But KFC isn’t real food... just kidding. We are adventurous eaters and sometimes you have to take some chances to find something really amazing. That being said we still try to be careful.
Either together or on our own wife and I have covered traveling over a fair part of this planet. I was badly poisoned once in Alberta, Canada and wife was poisoned badly once in Boston. Been to Mexico lots, never, ever, had a problem and we don’t eat in tourist places. We eat food off of stands in the street, stands in parking lots, and twice a week we get enchiladas from two guys that have a cooler full of them and pies in the back of an old pickup truck. Never had so much as a bad fart.
 
The wife worked the food thing for 30 years. Wendys, McDonald's, Hardys and a few others plus some now defunct locals. We haven't done fast food in over 20 years. If places can not do their stuff right we dont eat there. She has no problems with sending stuff back that wasn't prepared or served right.
 
The last and one of the only times I got food poisoned was a couple of years ago at a upscale Nordstrom’s Bistro at South Coast Plaza. It can happen any where. Sick for 3 days
 
I just eat the chicken wings at the chinese buffet. I know what they are suppose to look like. where else can you eat fiddy wings for 15dolla.
I don't eat any fish unless I know where it came from[no fishfarm products]
 
Hop Sing from Bonanza fed Ben, Adam, Hoss, and Little Joe for years and never saw an episode where anyone was ill. On occasion Hop Sing would come out of the kitchen yelling "Mista Ben, Mista Ben, Hoss been in my pantry again". Never saw the poor guy once relax in the living room or have din-din with the boys, and never changed his outfit. Remember that it was always DEATH to any woman who dated or were to be married to any of the Cartwrights...and old Ben WTF had four wives...ALL deceased; but managing to have a son with each one before their ahhh untimely passing. Seemed sorta more than a coincidence...
