What did you do to your Mopar today?

Undercoating.

We have this on one of the Mustang sites I frequent. Basically post up what you did to your B-Body today. Whether it be paining, cutting, modding, etc. anything goes. Feel free to ask questions as well.

(Mods move if wrong spot)

I'll start:

Took the rear bumper off my '71 Charger. I'm working on removing all the brackets, lights and such. It's fun thus far since I've already broken two bolts. The PB Blaster and breaker bar are getting a work-out. It also bit me again - that's the fourth time this bumper has bitten me - deff. time to get it fixed. I need to find a chroming place nearby to redo the bumper, it's peeling and extremely rusty.

Anybody recommend a place near North NJ?

Post up guys!
Seems you have no clue.

That isn't very nice to say to someone who started a 8,500+ thread almost ten years ago. It's not likely that he'll even see it, you posted a few years after the last time he was on here.

Plodding along with the interior, going very slow taking off parts.
I know I'm not taking the car completely apart but I'm trying to determine just how far to go.
Looks like these areas are pretty original and haven't been touched yet, at least to my untrained eye. Am I correct?
I can't really TLC my rear window assemblies (they need it) unless I mess with it.
Suggestions, or should that be done elsewhere?
Thanks.

Looks factory except for that half dollar size hole in your inner wheel well. From your pics everything looks pretty solid.

I think you might be looking at a shadow cast by the lower tab that secures the seat back, unless I am missing something.
Yes pretty solid, bunch of scale and 50 years of dirt but not too bad overall.

Fitted my new air cleaner.
One day I'll have one that says 426 Hemi on it....

Finished rebuilding the a/c heater box and put back together. All of the foam and rubber gaskets from DMT were perfect fits of the original pieces. Before putting it back, gonna do a little detail work under the cowl and put in new padding.

Painted and fitted my newly covered parcel shelf. I'd covered it myself a few years back but run short on material and had 2 patches at either end. It was also wrinkly and looked crap. I bought the right amount of material this time and had it wrapped by a local upholstery guy. I'm slowly going back through the car and fixing all the things I rushed through to get it back on the road. Carpet is next...

I too was trying to finish up with my non A/C heater box.
Today I did a little upgrading regarding the heater box.
Here's the small carboard piece that came from the factory.
Its purpose is to complete the ducting that goes down to the feet area on the passenger side.
I did get a new one in the kit from Detroit Musclecar technologies, but decided I could make a better one.
So I got a thin piece of stainless steel and made a duplicate up.
Put a little sealer on the box and clip the new cover in place.

Nice sunny -13C day, so thought I'd get my car out for some vitamin B5.... of course I plowed a path first, not like the old days of taking this thing to the ski hills first thing in the AM before they'd plowed the roads!

How 'bout a video of you doing donuts with Bird and the Bee. A "Birds & Bees Mating Ritual". Name is catchy, monetize it and post it on Youtube and say it's to help pay for raising their offspring!
:thumbsup::thumbsup::lol::lol::rolleyes::eek:

Drove 2 hours North and dropped off the 440 at the machine shop. VT Engine Service. They will clean everything, polish and balance the forged crank, replace main, rod & cam bearings. Rod out the oil passages, deburr the lifter holes, hone the cylinders, give the block a clean up cut, same with the heads, check my valve job for functionality, check my port & polish job, hone the valve guides, replace the rings, Teflon valve seals, install new oil pump and pick up, install oil pan, assemble motor up to the valve train. I'll put the valve covers on, the valley pan, intake carb, headers, fuel pump, water neck, dizzy, coil, water pump, etc. About a month...they were pleased that it was so clean and organized..lol.

I'll get that for you when I pull the Bird out, once the lift is set up!
