What did you do today....other than work on your car!?

Went to the Ducks Unlimited charity banquet Saturday night and won this G Loomis NRX baitcasting rod and Shimano reel, along with a field dress kit, Winchester display knife, and two T-shirts. The rod retails for $625-$650. Score!

Not gonna fix it for him, at this point anyhow, but offered to look at it for him. While there learned he just bought the 130 acre farm and there are apparently 3+ dozen old 60/70 mopars out behind the tree line. Too wet to check it out... I'll be back.

Well thats a big bubu, what happened?
Sad part, it's one out of my nest. I sold it three years ago and then that guy sold it to the current guy last summer. This happened 2 weeks after he bought it... while his instructor was showing him how to fly it. I've lost track of how many have died to this "situation" and then the instructor states "well you should have had inflight insurance". If it was me I'd have drowned the bastard....

Full stall, dropped it in from 10 feet up... at least !

It was a really nice airplane the last time I saw it.. LOL

So... droping that thing caused that kind of damage?
Wow, i thought it was run into on the ground, no worries i know you can fix it... no problem...

It was run into the water surface at about 60 MPH or 500 feet per minute and drove the float mount strut up through the floor. If you've ever water skied behind a boat at over 45mph you'll know that you skip for a long time until you break through the surface! Water is F'n HARD !

Went to go to bed at 12:30 last night only to hear the furnace blower hummin hard in stator lock. Did my best trying to at least get it to run on high to get through the night... but gave up at 3am. Got 2 fireplaces burning and grabbed 4 hours sleep. Tore apart and got a 3 speed motor ordered.... from Edmonton ffs. 70 bucks for FedEx express on top of the 300 buck motor + hst.I should have known when the control board fried 2 weeks back! Guess we're stoking the fire for a few days.

Over the past three years I have been helping the owners of a large estate I work for get rid of all their vehicles… A 49 Woody, Corvette convertible, 2 high end Jaguars one convertible and the other a 4 door Jag a Model A truck and the last one delivered yesterday a 53 MG.
The end of an Era sad to see the last one go as he passed away at 82 back in December 2022.

I must have been really bored today, no errands to do, no stores to go to, nothing to do.
So i walked around my neighborhood, more times than i ever have in the past.
I normally walk three times a day, and each walk is one mile.
In the past year or a bit more, i have done a hand full of four times around.
Well today i did a 5th, then later on i did a 6th, and a little while ago, i got in from doing a 7th.
Each walk usually takes me 18 minutes to do at my pace, and 2,200 steps on the step meter.
But ya, if i talk to people, pet the dogs, in the neighborhood, play Frisbee, with another dog, my times do increase.
Walking, is keeping my weight off.
Lost 50 pounds last year from 230, to 180, from April to October, last year, 7 months.
Boy, that Australian Shepherd sheep dog, that i play Frisbee with, will tire this old man out. lol

Boated this morning
Motor-boated? :poke:

Made arrangements last night to take a couple of hours off tomorrow to look at my buddy Cliff's latest acquisition.

More later with pics......exciting stuff. The seller has already told a large number of people to bugger off as they were mostly tire-kicking wannabe's with long hairy mullets, tattoo's and wearing black jeans with gold medallions....the sort of people who would wreck a car like this and not appreciate it for what it is.

From what I have seen, it is too cheap to be true, but the seller appears to be a honest as the day is long....and it turns out Cliff knows his inlaws.....small world.

Practiced making black and tans as I somehow missed St Patrick's day altogether.

If halloween candy is 1/2 price November 1, and Valentine's day candy is 1/2 price on Feb 15...

Shouldn't Guinness and Harp be 1/2 price the day after St Pat's?

Here's that concrete grinder from last week-

Cross-slide vice was $20. It's HF, but their new ones are $90 and not as tight.
Undercut saw was also $20. I've never seen one before, but could have used it many times in the past.

Synch gauges were ten bucks. You never know when you might want to run dual quads or three two's...or get a vintage four carb bike.
