What did you do to your Mopar today?

Walked out to the garage, opened the door and turned on the lights. Cars are still there. Turned off the lights and closed the door. Waiting on parts sucks.

Removed front bumper from mock-up, straightened out headlight buckets, which included rust removal; sorted out rings, mounted headlamps: bumber brackets sorted, mocked hideaway grilles, need to repair broken mounting "ear". PROGRESS, slow, but progress.

Ripped the teeth off of 4th.
Well, Sunday actually.

I realized that the previous shop had spray bombed black over rust on my front license plate bracket. So, I dragged out the blasting cabinet, stripped it to bare metal, and gave it a coat of rustoleum. After that, four coats of Plasti-Dip.

Put it on the lift to get a couple pictures another member needed.

The Coronet hasn't started in two months. Turn the key and everything goes dead, like someone disconnected the battery. Wouldn't start when jumping the starter relay. Wife and I had been busy replacing the downstairs carpet with LVP (luxury vinyl plank) every weekend so the car sat. Project is now finished so today I pulled the ignition switch and bench tested it with an ohm meter for continuity. Each terminal has continuity but the resistance seemed high - over 0.1 ohm.
I pulled the key tumbler and cleaned the contact point and smeared on dielectric grease. The bottom of the ignition switch barrel and the tumbler contact point were covered in a black soot, felt like fossilized grease. After cleaning and assembling, the switch bench tested something like 0.04 ohms. Reinstalled the switch and she fired right up. I love cheap, simple fixes!

Cracked open the top of the 392.
Roller cam and lifters...

Just mocking up the fuel injection....
Got to also check the distributor clearance to the manifold....heard it might need some trimming.

I'll get some more done tomorrow....

Today is going to be clean up the garage day. After parting out the 72 Plymouth, moving the Charger R/T convertible into the garage, moving the 72 Charger topper into the storage trailer and replacing the calipers, hoses and brake lines on the Indy Ram,the garage and yard are a mess, and tools are scattered across the garage!

Got the AC working on the Coronet .
Felt good to drive home in comfort .

Also got my redone wheel lip mldgs on . The right front was hammered pretty good and a local shop was able to fix it and it looks amazing.

Also..
On the other car. I had a spare 1966 hood ornament rechromed and installed a new repop decal in the insert. Much much better.

I checked on my 472 Hemi on Friday, it has been in machine shop prison for 3 years, it's doing 3 to 5 with no parole! Lol the machine work is done except for the final honing, hopefully soon that will be done an it's on to assembly mode !

Damn 3 years? My shop takes about 2-3 months but they do good work at a reasonable price.

Got the intake mounted....
Look at that perfect gasket matching!

I used anti-seize on the steel threads into the aluminum.
Had to re-tap several threads on brand new Edelbrock heads....ridiculous.
Good thing I have my taps handy...

Distributor clearance not an issue but I am going to have to grind the valve covers to make them seat.
