What did you do to your Mopar today?

Trying to change the lithium (corr. AGM) batteries inside a used repro battery.

Used hobby Zona saw to cut between the thin gap between top cap and base. That makes a very thin and accurate cut.

It looks like these things are set in 1-2 inches of potting epoxy. I guess to keep them from moving around? Seems excessive.

Interesting, but great to see what's in there. They are not lithium, those are Odyssey sealed AGM's. You can replace with one PC925.... IF you can get that crap hogged out.

They look like an Odyssey. But for the Length and Width I'm measuring is L= 7" W= 2 7/8" I'm thinking the PC680 ?

PC680 - Cold Cranking Amps (CCA) 170
Length 7.20 in
Width 3.00 in (times 2)

I'm not sure a PC925 will fit in there:
Cold Cranking Amps (CCA) 330
Length 6.60 in
Width 6.90 in

Yes those are 680's in your case. A single PC925 definitely fits in a cleaned up case...

Also note I'm not sure how Odyssey specs their batteries. They state the PC925 is only 330 but it pulls a 1000 fully charged, 800+ out of the box.

That PC925 would require me to chip out most of that epoxy potting. I wonder if I can do that without harming rest of case.

Plus... I gotta those two batteries out first!! The epoxy is poured all around them and in between them.

I moved it out of the way, so we could dig out the transmission,driveshaft and exhaust for my friends 69 Dart GTS.

We started our Island adventure. Was almost to the top of Vancouver Island, and came home. A weeks worth of rain predicted, and I wanted to check the mighty 318 again.
Puttering along over hill and dale, we got 13.6 mpg. Foot in it we got 13 mpg. These are imperial gallons. So taking it easy gets and extra 1 mpg. I think flat lands would also gain another 1mpg.
Back in the engine. I was a bit nervous putting too much pressure on the hydraulic lifters. But this time I added one quarter turn to the preload. I think this will be okay. And I watched the pushrods turning. All except one, which better smarten up. We have enough giddy up for the job at hand.
The steering is a lot better with the bulbous nose having been cut off. We still have a lot of windage, but it is a camper van.

Pulled the rear bumper off so I could properly route the wires to the license plate and reverse lights, they're impossible to get at with the bumper on.

I mounted 2 front tires up for R/T. Luckily we have tire machine and balancer at work. About 2 hours later I got it done, most of the time was me trying to figure out how the fancy tire balancer works(digital fancy thing) My helpers are out of town so it was just me, which was a good thing. I got to say I did it all by myself.

I replaced the driver side strut rod. I bought the complete control arms, strut rods, k-frame kit from Cap before they sold out to QA1. The original strut rods from Cap had threaded aluminum ends where they attached to the lower control arm. They eventually got boogered up and bent. I bought a new pair from QA1 and was happy to see those pieces had been updated with steel.
