What is everyone working on in the off season.

I figured it was a given that when you put the -1 heads on that you opened the 2D up to MW size.

I don’t see the point in running MW sized heads with a std sized manifold on them.

IMO there are two suitable intake choices for you...... the 2D at MW size, or the 337.
Seeing as finding a 337 is impossible.
How much we talkin to have ya open up the 2D to max wedge?

It’s really not much work....... you could easily do it yourself.
The intake is designed for that to be done.

@stage3, try hoosier quick time or quick time pro. Quick times have a tread pattern, pro's are dot slicks with three grooves. Quick time 31-18.5 are 18" section, 31" tall, 15+ " on the ground. Pro's are the same, except 31 or 33 tall. Either one around $300 each last i checked. Tube or tubeless.
I'm using the 31- 18.5 x 15 on my opel.

Show us some pictures of the rear suspension please....Picture kinda shows leaf springs with those really, really big tires.
How in the world does the car have such tire clearance with leaf springs...or has it been back halfed with leaf springs, not ladder bars...please let us know.

thanks for the info,,,the funny thing is the firestones section width is narrower than the m/t's by 1"...hoosier says there quick time tires r not for street use and marked on the tire,,,i'm looking at the m/t's et street bias ply tire in the same size of 31x16.5-15..31+ diameter,16" section, and 13.39" tread,,which means the tread will be around 14" with tubes.a direct replacement to the firestones..they advertize them as street legal,,,here in taxifornia,1 has to be careful,,

some body decided they wanted pro stock size tires on there b body...its been back halfed with leaf springs, and i added cal-tracs bars, dana 60 was custom sized to the wells...which measure 20 inches..and the 4.56 gears offset the large tires.it had 5.13's..at 65 mph , its taching 3100 rpm's going down the freeway..it scares the prious drivers when i blow by them at 75 down the freeway,,,has a vibration though at around 65+ and up mph?

Stage3, now you gonna make me look! I've been using mine on the street in cali, and i know they are marked dot. And LT for light truck tire. Now i'lll have to look when i get home for a prohibition on the tire. I'm out of town till tomorrow.

First place i would look for your vibration would be driveshaft or pinion angle. Have you checked p.a.? A couple angle shims to put the front of the pinion down could be a cheap and easy experiment.

I forgot to ask what you are looking for, slick lookalike, street legal big tire with tread, street-strip tire, or just something to fill the wheelwell less likely to get you police attention than slicks.
If just looking to fill, American tires has closeout dirt tires that are HUGE and rediculously cheap. (15x30x15 with tread for $60). Obviously not dot, but with tread you probably woudnt be bothered.

@stage3, I just got home and looked at my tires. The M/T street radial PRO has just a size , and " for drag racing use only, not for highway use" in big letters, even though it has a DOT number.
My Hoosiers have a DOT and a LT designation, and NO prohibition for street use. Therefore street legal.
Hoosiers recommendation not to use on the street may just be a cya, like M/T recommended absurdly high pressures in slicks, to keep cars from swaying a little from low pressures, never mind that they won't hook.

i thought i did,,,,checking pinion angle on a dana 60 is difficult,,,angle finder on yoke? and compare it to driveshaft? or transmission yoke? i have 4 degree shims there now , i think because of the way the former owner did the back half the yoke could be up more than it should,,cutting off leaf spring mounts can ba a PITA...

slick lookalike,,same as those big meats on there now..just came back from ET wheels in fremont..they r cutting my wheels down to the same size as pictured above with the fire stones...the m/t et street tires r very close..thats probably what i will go with..thanks.

u cant be too careful..hoosiers website says not reccomended for street..like u say cya? i'm looking at the m/t bias tire which is recommended for street and will give me the look i'm after..

Easy, place the angle finder on the rear cover bolts. They're 90 degree to the yoke C/L. I've done it both ways. The angle is with-in .1 degree.
