What did you do to your Mopar today?

What did I do today?
I broke the back window.

I was running the weed eater out in front of the shop, maybe 20 feet away. Decomposed Granite with some road base gravel over the top.
I purposely aimed the weed eater away from the shop but must have made some mistake. Hours later I went out to close the door and saw that the window is shattered. The original 1970 glass is gone. Sad, too. It has the last sticker of my late Brothers music band at the bottom..."Maven".
I bought an AMD rear window for Jigsaw.....I guess I'll be installing that one in this car for now.

Dang...that is bad luck buddy. Get some high quality photos of that sticker before it gets damaged, and hopefully someone can reproduce the sticker for you - get plenty made.

Very bad news, sorry to hear about this.

I feel bad that I hurt the car!

Tested my new AC gauge set on the Dakota.

Was blowing 70 degrees.

Gauges confirmed 25 on the low side and 170 on the high.

Added 1/2 can and it went to 40 and 225.

Now blowing 60 degrees.

I haven't used a triple gauge set in 35 years.

Bought it to replace the dryer that blew a seal in the 73.

Also started gathering parts and making a list of things to do to swap a 4 barrel onto it.

Last year, I made a bracket to hold a high idle solenoid on an AFB/AVS.
MUCH easier than making one for a BBD.
Plus the accelerator pump seal is starting to go on the BBD.

The list is surprisingly long.

Got the wheels and tires mounted on my new project, a '69 Dodge D300 cab & chassis truck. Today after work, I'll install the fuel tank, engine pulleys, new wiper blades, and a new taillight kit so I can actually drive the beast!

I think before that, I'll finish the install of the replacement steering column harness and t/s switch in the '68 Fargo D100. The old harness quit; losing turn signal, emergency flashers and horn all at once.

Edit - I got the pulleys bolted on...after cross-threading and repairing two bolt holes on the balancer, and finding two more fasteners in my box-o-bolts. Wired the alternator up. Most of the dash works - radio, fan, lighter, gauges (but no oil pressure showing) and no lights of any kind. None at all. Fuse box check today, along with an aftermarket oil gauge hookup. No noises in the engine, so I suspect the sending unit went tits on the truck. New wiper blades installed.

Today, will involve the fuel tank install as first priority. Then the taillights.

@Kern Dog I think you can save the sticker. Carefully put some quality (gaffer's?) tape behind it before doing anything else.
Too bad about the window! I did the same thing to one of the double glazed at the front of my house.
It's the ricochets- you CAN'T plan for their trajectories...

That’s sucks man. Awful. I hope you can salvage the sticker. The car, You’ll get sorted quickly I’m sure! Hopefully the proper use of the apostrophe will brighten your day. :)
I tripped and fell getting a box out of the garage. No pics of the injuries....

At least you had some good reading material while gathering your wits.

The only good part Greg.. you'll now know exactly where those trim clips belong! The bright side of things for the day..

This car had MORE rust around the window channel than "Jigsaw" did. More metal was replaced on this car than the other one. I'm not so sure the clips were put back in the right places. The lower corners were always a little "floppy" which was why I asked about the locations when installing the clips on Jigsaw.
I figured that since the lower corner pieces were flanged, that they would just float and not need clips to retain them. I may have been wrong about that.

I'd look for that rock and a 5 lb hammer. Wonder it was of those mysterious window corning events and not a rock? Had both quarter windows on a 68 Dart shatter.

I don't understand what you mean.
The car is off the road by 220 feet. Nobody gets to the car without me seeing it...OR do you mean for me to take a 5 lb hammer to the rock that broke the window?.

Driveshaft is back in the Dakota.
Note custom dual muffler arrangement.
