Stock 440 Block Horsepower Limit

8 years later from starting this thread... I have answers to share! Based on everything I've gone through with the different engine builds in the same car... I'mma call it 650 HP is the max a stock block can reliably handle and actually stay together. I wrote up an entire tech article on my website highlighting the different builds and what failed with each one. See link below if you'd like to check that out! Hope yall have a great day!

It would be great if you could copy and paste that info here......

I have a 440 that makes 630 NA with stock crank, eagle rods and SRP pistons. I made 50 nitrous passes (125 shot) in a 4100 pound tank running 10.30’s. I spin it up to 6800 +. So far no issues. Stock bottom no girdle.
This bottom end is still alive and well, had one sorted out run so far at a 10.50.. ( knocks on wood)

What's the weight of your car? Had a 68 roadrunner that would go 10.50's but wasn't consistent but became consistent as could be at 10.68 @125. Car was just under 3300.
