late model hemi into early b bodies

The Flowmasters are louder, sound better, and they dont drone inside. I'm happy with how they sound although I cant sneak up on anyone anymore, lol!

i went the opposite direction. i've always had a let you know i'm commin' exhaust. then after thirty years of that i put something quiet on and now i just smile and enjoy the quiet

This was great......

Zack, I just finished reading this from beginning to end and even though I'm not considering changing my max wedge for a modern hemi I'm in awe of your talent and problem solving skills. Thank you so much for documenting your build and teaching all of us 'old dudes' a few new tricks as well. You have a rare combination: Priorities straight and a jewel of a wife. Your kids are lucky to have a Dad like you. Thanks for sharing yourself with us.
Oh yea, the Polara is awesome!

Coloradodave, thanks for the nice comments. The better half is really better than myself and the little hoodlums are a blast, and it's even better when they say they want to go for a ride in the Polara.

I cant take all the credit, a few of my buddies have the talent to take my ideas and fire up the cnc machines and whittle away, also the electrical since I have never done that before. All in all I can say that the car turned out nice and wouldn't you believe that I'm still tinkering on it. By the way, I'm needing a new set of rear tires already....FUN!!

Just got a 6.1 hemi intake manifold on ebay for dirt cheap and also an 05 computer. Having the 05 computer will allow me to have ALOT more tuning ability over the engine and shifting on the trans. Might have to get a new harness made, if so, I'll have to save some coin for that. Cant wait to put on the manifold, that thing is oh so sexy!

Zack, I'm eager to keep following your adventure. Keep on keepin on!

Hey Zack, are you planning on checking your mileage again before making more mods? I was real curious to see how you made out.

Yeah I want to check the mileage but haven't found the time to take a long cruise. No more mods till I get the mileage figured out. The 6.1 intake manifold is for when I get the car dialed in as best I can and then the 05 computer and new harness will get thrown into the mix and I get to start all over, yeah me!!

Just got a 6.1 hemi intake manifold, new air intake system, gaskets, 05 ram computer and now saving for another harness and a Diablo Intune programmer. Just like Rapid said, thats hot rodding!!

The computer and harness are needed because of the other stuff listed and the efi tuning bug has bitten me really hard and I just gotta scratch!!

The 1st manifold deal fell thru cause somebody dropped it and dinged up the mounting surface, but he turned onto another guy selling a manifold and I got that one on it's way. The computer showed up and I hooked it up and the engine fired up and ran. Best of all I made a call to dodge, gave them the vin number, and whadya know, no anti theft...woohoo!! Alot of codes showed up but I was expecting that, nothing of real concern since I haven't got the harness for the 05 computer. A Diablo Intune is also on my list but that's down the road.

I got it from a member on lxforums. There are quite a few on there for sale.

Just got my 6.1 hemi intake manifold, it's flippin' heavy, and started the painting process and ran out...that bites!! This is gonna be fun, and I'll need to port match my spacers to the 6.1 ports and then blend them.

Still waiting on the paint to get mixed, man they are slooowww!! Anyway, here's some shots of the new stuff, enjoy... also there is the lx manifold, and you can see why the spacers are used to clear the top of the timing cover, hell I may just mill it down and would not need to use the spacers.
