I picked up a CA/AZ 1966 Coronet post car for my next project. This one will be MAXIMVS III. MI and MII are a 1963 Savoy and 1964 Savoy respectively. I sold those (though I might be getting the 63 savoy back some day) years ago and now I'm getting back in the game.
The 66 will be NSS legal and I plan on driving to the meets in this one and hopefully driving back. I pulled the front and rear glass and there is no rust in the channels. The undercarriage including the torsion bar support and frame rails are also rust free - big time dirty though from sitting in the desert for decades.
The initial plan is:

The initial plan is:
- I'm going with 1966 WW-1 (white) and a black interior. It thought it was originally a turquoise (KK-1) but it looks like a white car (that's what I really wanted anyway) after we pulled the front and rear glass out - it was painted turquoise sometime later.
- I decided on a 383 based 431 stroker as I have a pristine standard bore 69 383 block that I just stripped, economical and won't break the bank. In the meantime I'll pick up 426 hemi parts as I run across them for the final build.
- No hood scoop will be installed on this one - well maybe a 66 SS WO hemi scoop.
- I'm using the 8-3/4 that's in it until I can swing a Dana 60.
- It had power brakes but I'm ditching that for 4 wheel discs and will replace the manual steering box with power steering unit.
- I'm also installing A/C and replacing the 22" core support with a 26" core support.
- It will be getting a Turbo Action 727 with a 9" converter and low band apply.
- Line-lock
- No cage or roll bar - that POS in it is going to the scrap heap.
- No graphics
