I just ordered one of those coolers too off of Amazon. Wanted to have that on hand, plus a pair of filters, for when I can put the Borgeson box/pump from BAC on the wagon.
Got hooked on those back when I first started working parts. Same unit can be plumbed into the trans cooler return line. Subaru had a service bulletin in the 90's to use them. They, like many other oe's, were having problems. Keep the shrapnel out of your new pump and/or box. Parts stores[ in their power steering hose listings], Rock Auto, Amazon etc.

You could say that. A 20psi hose would be strong enoughwell pewp.. didn't know bout that.. i think i can fit one in between the box/cooler... will order it..
BTW.. 300psi line should be strong enough for the return?
ah k.. i did a search last night and read it will hit 150psi.. i like to overkill stuff.. i have a tough *** trans cooler line on there right now but it isn't flexible enough, have some softer stuff i'm gonna swap outYou could say that. A 20psi hose would be strong enough
Take a look at the flimsy factory spring wire clamps. And it goes straight into the can. Could you imagine 150 psi blowing right into the reservoir??ah k.. i did a search last night and read it will hit 150psi.. i like to overkill stuff.. i have a tough *** trans cooler line on there right now but it isn't flexible enough, have some softer stuff i'm gonna swap out
True...Take a look at the flimsy factory spring wire clamps. And it goes straight into the can. Could you imagine 150 psi blowing right into the reservoir??
Nicely done!K... PS filter is in... came out ok.. started making brackets for the trans cooler but of all things i am out of 1/4-20 nuts... will have some tomorrow...
The cooler is way bigger than i was thinking,. covers bout 1/3 of the radiator.. i'm mounting is bout 3/4" forward of the rad.. will be fine

This is going to be on the drivers side of the rad opening, there are 2 slotted holes from the factory that aren't used and i have no idea what they are for.. will use one of those and have to drill 2 holes in the lower part of the core support in front of the rad.. trying not to drill the car up too much but can't be avoided. Am going to mount 3 corners of the cooler, hoping that's solid enough..Old cars can be a challenge. Problem solving 101. Don't give up. On my cooler, I mount it under the hood latch horizontal, upper tie bar?, support just behind the grille. Will tackle that when its time.
