wow very nice ,BDL ,and thanks to all who have kept this tread going a lot of very nice chargers :headbang:

great looking ride BDL. That's the original color combo of mine.

Thanks guys! It's been a blast to build. Hands down, the best mod so far has been the HID headlights. Those old yellow things just didn't do squat for lighting up the road at night. I'm glad I finally found a resource like this to post questions and get quality answers from guys/gals who actually know about 66/67 Chargers!

So I see in your signature you have a 46RH trans. Any cutting on the tunnel to get it to fit? Also, please explain the GM electronics. (booo, hissss) ha ha ha

Confession time... The 46RH is sitting on the floor of my garage, begging for me to find the time to tuck it under the Charger. It's going in soon... Just not yet :( From what I have read, I don't think I will have to massage the tunnel. I may massage it a tiny bit with a dead blow hammer, but I really do not want to cut it.

...LOL on the GM electronics... I wondered how long it would take for someone to notice that little admission. I was tired of switching out the ignition module all the time. So... I began scouring the Internet looking for an alternative. (I had already ditched the points for an electronic distributor from a '70's Mopar) I ran across an intriguing write-up years ago where a guy used the GM HEI module in place of the Mopar "box on the firewall." I have long-since lost the link to the original article, but it looks like there has been a recent magazine article: http://www.carcraft.com/techarticles/1311_convert_a_ford_or_chrysler_ignition_to_gm_hei/

Here's another writeup...

Well what do you know... I found the original writeup:)

That's OK, we'll forgive you for that, trans AND ignition. A person can hide the HEI module, unlike a a whole HEI dist.
I'm dreaming of a cheap and dirty LS component EFI setup on my car. Someday.

I hear the EFI setup idea... I have dreams of converting my Poly to EFI, but time and money don't allow right now. Well, mostly money. If I had money, I would have twice as much time;)

Sweet '66 Kombi!! And in GERMANY??? Did you have it shipped to you from the states or did you buy it in country?

beautiful car Kombi! what size tires are those? You nailed the stance just perfectly

Hi!

the 66 runs on P225/75 R15, Cooker Classic redlines.
The suspension is stock, I love these narrow wheels under these wide bodies.
I bought the car 2008 in Las Vegas and shipped it to Germany.
It was first owned from 1966 until 2004, I bought it from the second owner, it´s in really nice condition.
I got a huge file with a lot of documents about maintenance, meetings, etc., really nice stuff to read.

The 66 fired up my “Dodge-Fever”, today I also own a 63 Dodge 880 Station Wagon and bought a 69 road runner 4-speed project last year.

So, keep on cruisin..

Regards

Niels

Are those 15 inch Polara hubcaps? can you get a better picture of those to share, maybe a side shot?

Those look to be the same stock '66 Charger hubcaps as the ones I have in the attic of my garage.

(Note, this is not my car...)
