How's everybody doing. Mom fell early yesterday (she's 94) and broke her pelvis in numerous places. It looks like it will be a month or so of healing and rehab. Damn, not looking forward to getting any older than I am. I moved this to General from Gold and lost a couple posts. Thanks for the responses guys.

It's going to take more than a month of rehab... I'm thinking months of physical therapy (PT).

It's imperative she do all PT every day as directed. Otherwise, her quality of life/mobility will be greatly diminished.

I hope you or someone can be there to enforce the PT. Someone has to be the "bad guy" for awhile. She'll thank you in the long run.

Well that sucks.

My mom's appendix burst in the begging of the summer.

Emergency surgery and weeks of near bed confinement.

I did a LOT of grocery shopping and yard mowing on the other side of town.

Lots of times a hip will break and then the fall happens....hard to know sometimes exactly how it started but hope the fall caused her pelvis to break and not the bone giving way. My mother in law fell and broke her hip....or the other way around....and well, she never was interested in getting out of bed again and fought everyone off with tooth and nail. Prayer sent...

She got released from the hospital today. Back to her care facility and she will be in the Skilled Nursing wing for healing and rehab. Thanks everyone for your thoughts and prayers. It will take a long wile but she will make it. She is very determined.
