Nicest affordable places to live in the USA.

Oklahoma can surprise you. NE is the Ozarks and there are some small mountains. It's not all flatlands. And God Damn those Oklahoma Super Cells!

Don't forget the Rattlesnake Hunt!!!!
Back in the early 80's I had a house on top of a pretty good size hill. The front porch faced west ,we would sit out there and smoke a big ol bowl and watch them storms roll in. It was some good times.

Y'all get some whoppers for sure!
Out here on the side of my ridge, we have about a 50 mile visibility to the west and north.
You can watch 'em coming for a while before they get here - and even cooler, you can watch
these ridges bust a lot of storms up as they approach, too.

Looking for low tax areas in USA. Close to International airport.
Family oriented communities with NO HOA fees.
Need garage space and acreage for nice poll barn

Just give the board a blindfold, some darts and a map, and you'll get a answer you won't believe or not even want to hear/read about! Nice to know what areas you're looking at or thinking about! Good Luck

Southern Utah is nice...

How's the economy there and taxes on

Eastern seaboard areas. Not Connecticut, New York or New Jersey

That's a really tough one for anybody to answer because there's so many factors to consider. Having travelled the whole entire country there's so many beautiful places but it's all trade offs.

I've lived on the eastern side (Appalachian country) of Ohio my whole life and have never really considered moving but like many it's a trade off weather wise. It's absolutely beautiful spring through fall then all the beautiful scenery turns gray for the winter, days get shorter, snow, some subzero days but usually all within 1-2 months. For me it doesn't bother me to much, I grow tired of the heat after awhile and look at winter as my time to get stuff done, home remodels, garage time, etc. I love the colorful forrest, zero traffic, rolling hills, acres and acres of corn fields, freedom to do as I please with my property, plentiful motorcross tracks, lakes... There's a lot to love.

Now as far as east coast weather goes.. feel free to correct me fellas but I drove south in early March (first time driving south during the winter) and was looking for that line where it breaks to warmer weather and I swear it was like someone drew a line on the NC SC state line? Scenery was the same from Ohio to NC, grey trees and no leaves but as soon as I came down the mountain into SC it was like instant life.. really weird?

I loved the northern US (everything west of me) absolutely breathtaking. Utah, Arizona.. that whole area was stunning but way to dry and hot for me. Northeast like Maine, NY again absolutely beautiful country but nasty winters. Southeast like the Carolinas and Florida ehh, to flat for me. I do like Kentucky and Tennessee.

San Jose has 3 great qualities. Weather, weather, weather. Otherwise zero.

At this point we will most likely stay put here in Iowa,
I do like interior New Mexico for the weather and lack of congestion.
We are up to 1,400 population in my local town and its getting pretty crowded.
Ethire North or South Dakota would prob be my choice.

The weather on the central coast is great. Beautiful area. Not heavily populated. But we are paying $12k a year in property taxes. Good thing we live cheap and love the area.

What?
You didn’t mention the cheap gas, acres of low cost land, the friendly people And all of that.

I am just looking for recommendations where there's nice communities, low taxes and nice way of life. California and those liberal states like Washington state and Oregon are definitely out of the question. Colorado is not for me either.

Iowa, not a bad place to live.

Freeways and roads are so gridlocked we can't get to them......
Having driven to FL and back a few times when my daughter lived in MB, WOW getting to the FL State line isn’t a sigh of relief…like the trip might be anywhere near over, lol. Then get to Miami and the traffic is bonkers – either going 80+ or at a dead stop. What fun I had driving a sizeable truck around MB. Trimmed off a few large branches…think I said lol already..

I see you mention New Mexico. You also mentioned not liking liberal states, New Mexico is extremely liberal. South of Socorro is pretty conservative though, problem is the state is ran by the folks up north. Something else you should put on your radar concerning the southwest, there is this little thing going on down here called a drought. There is not much water here, doesnt look like we're gettin any for awhile either. This IS fixin to be a very big problem here in a short while. Do some research before moving.
