Another Graveyard Cars Rant

...but the home reno shows do have their fill of drama.

Some are much better than others.

We watched one last night we hadn't seen before and there was an ad for even another that was so full of BS drama we both shook our heads and said "NOPE".

The Nicole Curtis show is probably top of my list for least drama most relevant info.
(She's easy to look at, too)

Bargain Mansions isn't too bad but the title is somewhat misleading as some of her projects are 1200 sf or cost 400,000 before reno.

I use my phone the tv is very dusty lol
Grew up watching small screen TV's and ain't going back lol Drives me nuts to watch a vid on my phone.

I have noticed that the guys that complain about Mark are often the types of people that I don't like.
Not always but enough to notice.
I joke, play pranks, act obnoxious and try to have a good time as often as possible. To me, being quiet and polite is a slow and very boring existence.
I'll watch until things get nuts and that usually doesn't take too long. I like to joke around too and get goofy but it's stays in check. If you like playing pranks and acting obnoxious the majority of the time, you won't be hanging around me all that much lol

I've posted that analogy on FxBO for years.

TOH has been going since the 1980's, and has at least one spin-off, so they're doing something right.

There are a few other shows that get it right or at least close to right for the serious or more serious than not car aficionado.

Full Custom Garage and Wheeler Dealers come to mind at the top of that list.
Seems like FCG just gets better with time. Ian can be quirky at times but it's pretty mild and I like the people that come on the show from time to time like Gene Winfield. Hard to believe he's 93!

The truth is that new idiots are more entertaining than old cars.

If you are going to be aggravated, its much better that it happen over a rusty bolt, lost carb linkage clip, ill-fitting repro part, or tenth of a second than a TV show.

Like Texas flippers. Theres a winning bunch. Hacks to say the least. TV sucks. The Mountains are to close by to ignore. Fresh air, colors And scenery are out standing.

I'd rather spend the time watching my favorite YouTube car channels, none of which are
"hosted" by people who insist on the tired old formulaic generated cable TV DRAMA - and
the operative word there is generated.

Well I am one who just doesn’t like jokes or any other Tom Foolery. This is serious stuff here. But at least the show has good technical content that shows people how to plan and execute specific tasks that they might encounter while working on their Mopars.

I will take your word for that, what little of the show I have seen the show is so disorganized in general, any planning is completely lost.

I just don’t see why they have to add a cartoon that mimics the poor humor of Worman. We get enough of that in the show. The cartoon has nothing to do with cars. If they need filler then their content not only sucks but there is not enough suckieness to fill the time slot. If it were my show I sure as hell can fill that with videos of me installing a roof skin or trunk pan in detail. How many Mopars need trunk pans and roof skins!

We should ALL pool our resources, and get together to make our own MOPAR show.
We could get a nice large shop, located by a major airport. And have members of FBBO, fly in and work on different area's of the restoration of our cars, for a few days to a week at a time, before returning to "The real world" and our jobs, LOL.
Some members here have VALUABLE skill and knowledge, developed over a lifetime of being a Mopar enthusiast, to restore a car just as good as GYC, but perhaps they lack the funds to do so.
While some members here have the love of (owning) restored Mopars, and DEEP POCKETS, they just lack the skill, know how or tools to do so.
So instead of them paying there local body shop to do it, and taking the chance that it may end badly.( as we all have had that happen or heard horror stories)
We can put them both together, and we got For B-bodies only.com THE TV SHOW!!!

Sounds like a great idea, and we know we have come full circle when we see posts about how Mark Worman cant stand our show, LOL
:rofl::lol:

If I worked at GYC, I might end up lost in the back, for days with all the cars waiting to be restored.
Now that is a segment he should use, film the graveyard, and a bit of the cars story.

Imagine "Nick's Garage" with some drama ... "Nick's about to fire up this fresh numbers matching superbird hemi on the dyno so we've pulled a plug and dropped a couple nuts in one cylinder just for a laugh" ...

Great idea know any producers ?

Exactly. I love Nick's Garage and they don't have scripts at all - just every day life in one of the coolest
places on earth to work if you ask me.
The personalities are real and are plenty entertaining, but the thrust of the show is all about what work
is being done on what cars. We eventually learn little snippets about the characters themselves as time
goes on as an aside, but it's never what the show is about at all.
I've gotten to know them a bit through correspondence and phone conversations and what you see is what
you get with them. Nick, George (the guy who shoots and edits the episodes) and Vasily (Nick's right hand
man) are just good people - and the customer's cars (and Nick's too!) are wonderful stars of the show.

Great idea know any producers ?

Unfortunately, I don't know producers, I am just the IDEA MAN!!! LOL!!!
but I would love nothing more then to work on these cars for a living.
Yeah I get paid to wrench on them, but it isn't as steady as I would like.
Maybe some wealthy FBBO members will, hire us to get this project off the ground.
Hey I am 25 minutes from Steward International airport!!(HINT HINT)!

For the first episode of FBBO TV, we should do something with the guy from here, Bobby Sixkiller, the guy who posted about looking for his pop's old Challenger, and found it!!!!
It is a perfect FBBO story.
He posted here looking for it. Then member on here helped him find it.
That's a great story, and shows how cool FBBO members are!!!! That car would be a great kick off to our show, LOL.
(only drawback is car is an E body) but for TV drama, that may work!!!
We can pretend NOT to know, that it is an E body, until at the end of episode, when someone tells us it's not a B body, and we can toss tools around and act pissed off,it worked for OCC, and Paul SR for years.

Now see, there ya go with the generated drama again....
