I have a 68 Sport. As far as I can tell, it is a gentlemans GTX. 383 vs 440 and a few trim pieces.
Could put GTX badges on it and few could tell...Hood, Bucket seats, Console, trunk moulding the same. As for a 67 I am not sure.
Depends on the application...going for a full stock restoration then yes.....going to be a driver or a race car go with an aluminum rad. My 41 Ply was quoted at 700cad. Aluminum was 250...no brainer.
Once at a local show this guy tells his son " this one has a chev engine in it" just saw the 383 plate on the hood...I just laughed. No point shaming him in front of his son.....
My wipers are parking in the middle of the wind shield. Still make full sweeps when running just parking wrong. Question is what went wrong and how to fix it.
Went to the NHRA Hot Rod Reunion in Bakersfield.....not again.....was very disappointed that the real nostalgia cars were running in an "Exhibition" class. What the hell is with that. Sure its nice to see a car break 200 mph, but it is more realistic to see 2 cars race for the finish line at 100...
For me it is finding a project some one else has grown tired or frustrated with and getting a good deal. Then digging into it and fixing the mess they have made..Some people should never own a wrench. My latest one came thru a high end custom shop and the mickey mouse stuff they did would make...
I just purchased a set of HD leaf springs from Mopar Performance. Left is 6 leafs and the right is 7 leafs.
When sitting on the floor on the anchor eyes the left spring is 1 and 1/4 inches lower. My question is Is the right?
Left part #P4452983
Right part #P4452982
Two things....
1st.....a machinist or tool and die maker do not work for peanuts
2nd....you go the GV cheap, why not put out the money and get the adapter that is gauranteed to fit and hold up....
Going cheap seems to always jump up and bite you..
Talked to a 727 rebuilder and told him of the same cenario....his response was the 1968 727 shifted like that....nothing wrong according to him........I just manually downshift to 2nd when slowing down......kick down works when I tromp on it to get by Chevy big blocks.
