Who's using their low oil pressure light with a high volume oil pump?
Reason that I ask is I had a 383 years ago, installed a high volume oil pump and blew the sending unit apart. This was a guage sending unit with the larger "can" looking unit.
This application would be for a light "small"...
I'll start off saying, I hate these kind of threads and here I am starting one. It's very hard to describe what's going on without being there in person but I'll do the best that I can.
Driving my '62 Polara, 440ci. with the original pushbutton transmission (rebuilt), I'm noticing a harmonic...
Fired up the 440 today and I'm just going over different things. This engine has the cam broke in but hasn't seen any asphalt yet. Oil pressure is 40 lbs at idle and off idle will go to 80 lbs. I thought I would pull the valve cover fill cap and see what kind of oil I am getting to the rockers...
1962 Dodge Original Push Button Torqueflight
Spent the last couple of weeks getting this car off the jack stands, pushed it outside today, hoping to try out the trans and running gear and nothing!
Here I am trying "drive" to "reverse" to "neutral" back to "drive" ect. Nothing, not even a...
I was installing my 8 3/4 third member today. Looked up the torque specs on my phone and the first thing I see is a thread asking about the torque. "A Bodies thread, and the op states that he has broken off two studs at 45 ft. lbs. The rest join in with 35 lbs is fine or just tighten them up...
When I bought the Summit K6401 cam, it came with the KT 2011 lifters. I just realized they are for oiling type push rods.
Can you use these with solid type push rods?
Also I can not find any specs on what size ball is recommended for these. 5/16 or 3/8.
TIA
I'm doing a valve spring replacement on a set of 452 heads. I've already done the machine work for the positive stop seals.
Reading info here and there, some are leaving the seals off of the exhaust valve. The fact being, the ps seals do such a good job and the valve doesn't get lubrication...
gasket information.
I'm researching head gaskets with a 4.410 bore.
The smallest compressed thickness in a composition is .039, that gets me 9.34:1 cr
I can get a cometic @ .030 that gets me 9.5:1 cr (where I would like to be for the cam I'm useing) but they are $85.00 each.
I can...
I'm wondering about the recommended valve springs for my Summit 6401 (911 Comp Cams valve spring) having enough clearance with my adjustable Crane rockers.
The O.D. of these springs are 1.525 and it looks like they might be a little tight. Looking for any input on someone useing this combo...
Did my measuring for pushrod lenth and came up with 9.00, outside of cup to end of ball end.
Summit has one that measures 9.030. That should work just fine. So I receive them today and they measure 9.200 from outside of cup to end of the ball.
Too long!
So I guess Comp Cam measures to the...
I have the early 727, ('62) and was wondering if there is a way to tell the condition of it without doing a total teardown? It seemed to operate ok when I first bought the car. There isn't any leaks. Just cutting corners at the moment due to lack of funds. Planning on doing a rebuild in the...
I was mocking up some parts and noticed some inconsistencies on these Crane adjustable rockers, not being centered. Can you take some material off the sides to center them or just install the valve covers and forget about it?
Also where the guide clips under the mounting bolts comes in contact...
I have a '62 Dodge Polara. Wanting to upgrade the whole rear assembly. Not looking for something as big as a Dana but would like to have both axles the same lenth for tire clearance. Which housings are going to give me this?
I remember swapping out a '64 with a '70s 456 Dana and noticed that...
